Hello everyone, I need to ask something. For those who have had KBS. Did you have alot of pain in your rectal area. Some of my lower tummy hurts to sometimes. I have been having alot of pain and discomfort ever since my hystrorectomy. The pain is worse, and am have a hard to release my stools. I even took this mag.citrete stuff and only went once, but did go like 10 hour later but need to have help with a suppositorproies. The pain is present all the time, when I walk, bend , move, set, it is so uncomfortable. I am not sure which doctor to call on this. Any ideas Lisa

Lisa, Having had both, a hysterectomy and KBS, it definately sounds like the culprit is the hysterectomy. When they are in you, they put everything back where it was pre-having kids. So...the tailbone goes down and the cervex gets pushed back up. Well..this stuff won't just stay in position on it's own so they have to tie it into place. Where do those stiches go? For me, in the tissue of the right cheek. My tailbone hurt from the shifting, but so did that whole cheek. It took quite awhile before I could sit comfortably. I would had thought yours would have been better by now. Contact the surgeon who did your hysterectomy. With KBS, having a BM wouldn't have helped any. The pain also resides all up front. KBS is an internal hernia caused by movement of the intestines. When we are fat, the fat holds them down. When we lose weight, they are free to wiggle and move around. As they move around, they can get bent (aka 'kinked') and get stuck in little pockets of the meshed type tissue that covers them. Whenever you have pain, it's a good idea to keep a pain journal. When was the onset, where, how long did it last, a description of the pain, did anything relieve the pain. Hope you get to feeling better. For your BM's, try adding 1 cup of Fiber One cereal to your diet a day. It has 28 g of fiber..and it's recommended for us to get 30 g. With the rest of your food, you'll have enough. I do that, plus laxatives, and stay regular. Sherri
