Big Time Questions

Dear Friends I am not here looking for any sympathy but rather answers to the question as to why I have almost zero energy and trouble concentrating on things. I saw my PCP on Monday and the full blood work I had done last week all look good. He is really not sure what is going on but feels like my body may be in starvation mode. So I am trying to eat more and being sure to get plenty of protein, even though the blood work did not show any problem with protein, B-12, Iron, Calcium, etc. etc. I had Ann go over to CVS this morning and pick me up liquid complete multivitims. Thought maybe that could be a problem with the chewables. The longest I am able to sit up is about 1 to 2 hours and then back down in bed. When we left the clothing exchange last Saturday I was totally drained and instead of going over to our son's house, I had Ann bring me back home. This is driving me nuttier then what I am. I have an appointment with Dr Cacucci and the Nutritionist on Monday and hope they might shed some light on this. By the way the dizziness and passing out corrected itself after the change in my meds. Have any of you who had sugery some time ago ran into this type of situation. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Dan

Dan I sent you and email and just to let everyone else know this past week the Baratric clinic at St V came out with new vitamin ...esp calcium guidelines.. So if anyone wants the exact changes I may be able to post it tonight...I dont have it with me at the moment or call the office and see if they can send u the new copy...I went to class on June 28th and when I was there Monday they gave me an updated list...so this is very new. They no longer reccomend the viactive chews...Only calcium citrate. And a few other things....Will post later...Im on my way out for the afternoon with my parents... Mariah

Mariah Thanks for the input. I started the Calcium Citrate the other day. Still to early to know if is helping. I also added Vitamin B-6 and B-100 today. Dan

Just a stab in the dark. Did they check your thyroid function? I know when I get low I tire very easily and my memory is horrendous. I can't imagine they did complete blood work without it but, it was just a thought. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Dan, it could still be some of your meds that are causing this. I too was to go on and get blood work done since I have been feeling still kind of bad and all the problems I have had. I even upped my protein up to 85-90 gr. to see if I could fell better. I am not sure why you are so worn out. But to be honest maybe our resent surgeries on top of just resently have the wls might be just to much on our body, I don't know just guessing. I am doing a little, but not healed yet. But at least no fever right now and no more internally bleeding. Hoping to get to go back to work soon. You better take care of your self. YOU HERE ME. LOL Lisa

Lisa Thanks for your reply. I really think having surgeries so soon together has taken a toll on both our bodies. It seems like it is kind of a trial and error thing to see what will help me along. I have added B-6 and B-100 to my vitamin regement today based on some input from other folks who have had similar problems. Time will tell. You take care of yourself also. We missed you at the clothing exchange Saturday. Dan
