Post-Op Question of the week!
Ok all you post ops...Please help me out. Im still belching. I feel like a plumber showing his butt crack. Am I always going to be belching for the rest of my life. Does this mean Im eating to fast or to much or what? I am really doing good at getting in all my liquids and protien so far and on days when I cant tolerate the milk protiens I drink the clear ones but I do try to get some milk everyday.
I really thought that all the lortab liquid was what was doing it. Now Ive been off of it 24 hrs or more and its not letting up. Can anyone explain. I havent went out much around my family or friends becouse Im so embarrased and tomorrow Andy comes back home and I dont want to sound like a drunk plummer on crack...LOL
Mariah,
Like Darrah said, they filled you up with alot of air durring surgery. I took gas-x and that really helped me get rid of it (after each of my surgeries, not just RNY). When I'm full, I belch sometimes, but usually not. If I eat too much, I hiccup. If I drink too fast, I gurgle (and it feels like it's trying to back up). If I don't chew well enough, I hurt and then You learn the crazy little particulars of your pouch pretty quick. Some post-ops talk about their's making noises as if a dozen little animals are having a field day. Mine, it moves. When the intestines get involved, it reminds me of when I was pregnant and the baby moving around inside you (so guys...if your tummy does this, you now have an idea of how it feels to have a baby inside you!).
If burping is your biggest complaint, I'd say you are doing pretty darn good! I'm happy for you!!
