yay !!

Hi everyone - YAY i just had surgery Wed but came home yesterday Friday , they said i was the best patient , i wanted to get up walk at 3m and 4 am and whenever i could .. im feeling great except my left side hurts but the meds help that .. i want to say it wasnt as bad as i figured ... i know im only a few days out , but id still do it all over again.. hugss everyonee back to resting i go , have a great nite hugs ~ jenn

Hey Jenn. Welcome home. So glad to see you have been running around those halls. I have felt great and I didnt take but one dose of the pain liquid lortatb. Then tonight after my mom and I got my shower completed and my dressing changed my side started killing me. It was my left side. guess I'll justkeep plugging on. I have my follow up on monday. Im so looking forward to getting weighted...who would have ever thought I would look forward to weighting inllllool Keep me posted on how u are feeling... This question is for anyone and everyone: I have a question on the Levonex...everyone told me you take one each day. The nurses on the unit gave me 2 a day and they sent me home with 19...do u thing 2 a day is right or should it be one a day????

yes im taking Lovenox to and i get 2 shots a day !! and lucky u my hubby went and got the script for me and it was $145 bucks - ouch

Thanks everyone for the comments ~ my left side still hurts , but its getting better , one major problem im haven is all my meds are working but 2 have side effects of itching , and im haven an itching issue i feel like i have fleas all over my body , im wondering if i can take benadryl for that part , im calling and pharmacy in the am , cause im going insane.. hugss all back to bed i goo

Jennifer, If you believe you are allergic to any meds, QUIT TAKING THEM NOW. How do you know which drugs are the problem? Could it be the lovenox? Call your surgeon's office. Do you have rash/hives? If so, go to the ER. They can give you a shot of benadry that is more potent than anything you can over-the counter. I have a few drug allergies and believe me, taking benadryl AND continueing with the meds is not the answer. Welcome home by the way. Glad to hear all went well. The pain in the left side is usually because that is where they enter with the stapler that closes things up. Mariah...At St. V's, we (although it has been almost 2 years ago for me) were also to do the lovenox twice a day. Watch the movie they gave you. It explains it in there. Jenn...maybe you should let Dr. Clark know that other hospitals give a lovenox package to their patients that include the lovenox & a movie about how & when to do the injections...and it's included in the price of the baiatric surgery! Jenn, Im having the same exact problems. I called Dr C at 4 am this morning, but dr gupta was on call. She said as your drain is about thru draining...it will cause pain on you left side. Mine is coming from exactly where my drain is and she said if I could just bare thru with it till monday that when I have my apt they would probably remove it. As for the itching Im having. It stopped when I stpped taking pain meds. it went away and now that Im haivng to take it again ....the itching is all back. Its a side effect of the pain meds. My husband picked up meds and it was 90.00 and that was without having to get the lovenox. I think it was for pepcid, welbutrin, lortab exlixar and one more but I cant think of it wring now...and that was with my insurance card paying what they pay. Mariah
