I AM HERE AND ON THE MEND

Hi I just want to pop in and let you know what is going on in my life. As some of you may know, I have been having problems with passing out and feeling like I am living in la la land. I have been pretty much restricted to my bed since a week ago yesterday. I called last Monday morning to get an appointment to see my PCP only to find out that he was on vacation all last week. Ann tried to get me to go to the emergency room but I did not want to have another doctor dealing with my problem who was not familiar with my situation. Well Ann called our PCP this morning and they worked me in this afternoon. I have to go to the hospital in the morning and have a complete blood work up done. The doc thinks that the problem lies with the medications that I am on. Two of them were started the end of May and that kind of coincides with when my problems started. So he is taking me off them one at a time for a few days and see if I can get back to normal (whatever normal means). One of the main issues is that my blood pressure is running very low, especially when I get up and start to walk. I have been taking my BP sitting down and then standing this past week. When I stand it really drops dangerously low. That is why I stuck to the bed this past week, and besides I did not feel like doing anything. By the way the two prescription meds that are suspect is LYRICA CV and also ALTACE. So it is now wait and see what happens this week. I certainly appreciate your concerns and prayers. I would have responded earlier but wanted to find out what the doc had to say today. Something has to give and soon. I have a very busy schedule this month. Hopefully I will be able to make it down to the Clothing Exchange on Saturday. Then Sunday I am scheduled to preach at our church. I have someone on stand by just in case. Our pastor is with the kids at Youth Camp this week, so I am trying to fill in for him. I also have follow-up visits with Dr Cacucci for my 9 month check up and also my knee surgeon this month. I really think that the two major surgeries in a matter of 6 months have taken its toll on this "old" body of mine. I know that God does not let anything happen that I cannot handle, so I am plugging on. On the brighter side, I have now gotten down into the two hundreds weight loss. That makes a total of 151 lbs loss since November 2005. Also my knee is doing great and seems to have healed up ok. Sorry for being so long winded, but I have to make up for lost time this past week. Please continue to remember Ann and me in your prayers. Hopefully I will be able to see you guys on Saturday. I have a bunch of biggy clothes to pass on. We will also have the 3 grand kids with us. Dan, I am so glad to hear from you! Sorry that you are feeling badly, but please know we are thinking of you and wishing you feel better soon! Hopefully the doc will have you back to NORMAL soon! I sure hope that you can make it to the exchange on saturday, I look forward to seeing you and Ann, and everyone else, too! LOL I am gonna be there in need of NEW clothes that is for sure, 22's look out, I need you desperately! HAHA I went to Ohio this weekend to the waterpark on Friday, it was awesome and then on saturday we went to the Cincinnati Zoo, we had a blast and took some wonderful pictures. I am not sure how to make a picturetrail to put them on my journal, but maybe I could share them at the exchange! Hope your week goes better, I will be thinking of you! Hugz Dawn

Dan, So good to hear from you. I just mentioned a couple days ago that I was worried because we hadn't seen or heard from you in awhile. Sure hope they can get those problems under control and FAST! Congrats on the weight loss, I hope I'm that far along when my 9 month rolls around!

Darrah You will get there with your weight loss. I have not been very hungry lately so that helped even though it is really the hard way. Dan

Dawn Im so jealous. I love the Cincinnati zoo. I cant wait till I have the energy to walk thru there on my own power. My husband and I were just wanting to go back in the spring before it got to humid and smelly...lol I just didnt have the strenght and I refuse to go in a wheel chair. I have never went to a water park. Did u go to the Beach waterpark over by Kings Island or did u go to Surf Cincinnati??? There are so many things I cant wait to start doing again. I so want a life again. Its so good to see you having so much fun. Keep it up and I'll look forward to checking out your pics. I need to figure out how to post pics too. I have a digital camera but dont know much about it other than saving the pics to my puter. Mariah

Wow Dan Congrats on the Wt. loss. I was so glad to see you post and thanks for your prayer. Wed will be here before I know it. I hope u find out whats going wrong ASAP. Hopefully u and I can both make that clothing exchange. I want to be there so bad. Everyone thinks Im nuts for wanting to go but I want to meet all of you wonderful ppl. Mariah Thanks for your prayers. We plan on being their on Sat. I starting to feel a little better already. We may have to go to Indianapolis on Thurs. If we do we will drop up at St V and pay you a visit. May even walk a lap with you. Dan
