hello all!! I haven't posted in a while but I've been keeping up on the happenings with everybody. I guess I'm just needing a little support after being denied from insurance. I've been a little "down in the dumps" about having to go through another at least 3 months of a docter supervised eating plans, seeing the nutritionist and psychologist in order for my insurance to even consider approving me. ( for those who didn't know - American Community denied me last month due to surgery not being medically necessary). It is so frustrating, but I guess God has a plan for me. I am planning on resubmitting to insurance in 2 months. Congrats to Mariah, Jen, Samantha, Jennifer, Tina and others for getting approved. I am so happy for you all. Thanks to Sherri, Linda, Marianne, Angie and others for all the info that you post. I'm still keeping a notebook of all the helpful info for when I need it. I just wanted to let you know I'm still here lurking and learning. Regina

Hang in there sweetie! I trust that God will bring changes in the time that is best for you. Until then...keep smiling and live each day to the fullest knowing he is in control and he will bring you thru this. Remember each day is a gift! That is why we call it the present! Hugs to you! Marianne

Regina, These next few months will fly by. Did you share with your pcp and surgeon about the insurance stance on it not being neccesary? I would definately include letters from them when you resubmit. Don't get discouraged. It was ~12 months between when MPlan denied me (I appealed & was denied again) and when I was approved by Anthem. In the meantime, we welcome your posts! Remember that the name of this website is ObesityHelp...NOT WeightLossSurgeryHelp. The one thing we all have in common is that we all know what it's like to be fat. And we all can cheer each other on! Too often, people disappear from here if they had been denied (I was guilty of that myself!) instead of sticking around learning and teaching others what they have learned from their journey with obesity.
