Good morning Hooser-land! I am thoroughly enjoying my coffee (decaf, sweet & low, sf vanilla creamer) this morning. I've been having some foot cramps this morning. Ouch! Ah well! Coffee is good anyway! lol I think I FNALLY convinced Bill that it would be a good idea if he had a few pair of shorts to bring with him to Vegas too. Men! You all can be SO stubborn! Let's see...get a heat rash from walking in jeans for 2 miles at 85 degree at home. Think maybe walking up & down the strip in 110 degree in jeans would be a good idea??? Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy he changed his mind because it would mean 'I'm right' (ok..maybe a little bit). I'm happy that he did because THIS trip, I want to get ALOT of walking in and him (or me) getting a heat rash would spoil that. As it is, I've been pushing off the surgery on my toes till after this trip (which is why I think I've been having the cramps this morning). As some of you may remember, when we went to Vegas last Feb/March, we went with some friends who pretty much took over what-ever we did. We had wanted to get a lot of walking in then, but our feet never even touched the strip's sidewalk! So we've been looking forward to this BIG TME! Hey...Marianne...(and any other Vegas frequenter)...do you have to have an electronic copy of freebie shows in Vegas that you could email me? I didn't want to print of the pages & pages off of Vegas.com but don't have time to go through and condense everything into a spreadsheet/document with just the basic info (location/attraction/day/time/cost). Other than the water show, we've never seen the freebies there because we always stayed so busy going to pay shows. This time, we aren't trying to be cheap, we just want to see what it would be very inexpensive for locals to see & do (remember, we are post-retirement planning here). Thanks in advance! You all have a great day! I'm off to go get ready to shop! Sherri

Good Morning beautiful people! Sherri I have never been to Vegas but really want to go! Maybe next year! Jeans and heat don't mix! I look forward to wearing shorts again in the near future. I have a baby gift, bridal shower gift, and birthday present to buy today. Watch out Target. Other than that, I have to run to my grandma's and then clean this house. Tomorrow is the bridal shower so I have to do it today. Hope everyone has a great day!! Sam

Good morning all. NO coffee here, having diet lipton green tea 0 sugar, no caffine, no calories, and muching on some refried beans on the side. Sure seems i eat a LOT of mexican food these days. Beans & rice, beans & rice, beans & rice. I wish my tummy liked deli meats more, but anytime i even THINK aobut eating it my tummy starts to feel all icky. Tonights dinner will be mashed potatoes and slow cooked green beans! YUM! (green beans and spinach really seem to help me with the constipation for some reason) I almost tried some celery the other day, and its totally on my sheet, but I'm just too scared to put that stuff in my pouch. I really need to reinvest in more sugar free popcicles. those used to be my best friend right after surgery, i should make them my best friend again. My scale continues to taunt me at 289. If I can get my back to feeling a little better later, I'm going to go walk. I took some darvacet for it yesterday and it seemed to help. however during the night the pain "changed." Yesterday it was just an intense hurting in one area of my side/back. today that spot still hurts, but during the night i acquired a new pain. now when i breathe in, pain shoots up from my lower back all the way up to my right shoulder. I never was one that had much back trouble unless I was on my feet for a long time (like 8 plus hours) but im starting to get really worried. I started getting ready for my honeymoon in Vegas yesterday too. Kmart had womens bathing suits 40% off, so I bought one in a size 18. Surely by the end of October I'll be in an 18 right? I tried on a pair of pants I bought like 3 years ago and quickly out grew them. They were a 24 and I was just going to see how much further until I could fit into them, but surprsise! they fit!

Darrah, If celery is on your sheet, try a piece of it! I cut it in ~1" pieces and have no problems with it. But raw carrots? It does not matter how much I chew on it, it still comes back up! With the celery, I these light cheese wedges (Kroger's I think). Each wedge is 35 calories, 2 g fat, and 3 g protein. I like spreading it on the celery. Hon, I wouldn't be surprised if that size 18 is too big on you by October! I just got back from getting my shorts and fully thought I'd be buying 12's. Nope, not a 12 in the cart fit! I got 10's only. Probably could have tried on 8's but Bill was with me and I didn't want to try his patience too much (you know men and stores..lol). Sherri

Lord do I ever know men and stores! Thus I avoid shopping with Eric as much as possible. It's kind of like me and Dicks when Eric is looking at fishing stuff Darrah I believe I have a couple of swimsuits smaller than an 18 just in case you might need them. I'll bring them to the clothing exchange for you! Sam

Well, sounds like I'm going Krogering tonight! I'll try some celery out Worst that can happen is it will come back up LOL. I SAY thats the worst, but whenever I eat something that doesnt agree with my pouch, I am in AGONY for almost an hour before I ever finally throw it up. The feeling before throwing up is the worst. After I can get it up, I'm fine. Thanks for the suits in advance Sam! I would LOVE to be smaller than an 18 by then. Its jsut taken so much weight to get from a 28/30 to a 24/26 that it seems unreal. I've heard that as you go down in sizes that it takes less weight loss to go from one to the next. No idea if that's true or not, I've been wearing a 20 since my junior year of high school. But here's hoping and thanks for thinking of me!

I could totally be pulling this little tidbit of information out of thin air, but I do believe someone said it takes about a 25 pound loss to see a change in size on average. Again I could totally be making it up but I think I heard that somewhere. When I look back on my weight gains and losses that seems about right to me. Sam

Hey you guys! Sherri, have a GREAT time in Vegas. I'd like to go back sometime and be able to see the sights more than just the casinos. A friend of mine is interviewing for a job in Vegas 2 weeks from now and I'm secretly hoping tha she gets it so i'll have another reason to get out there. I haven't posted in a while, but things are going good. I'm down 55 pounds in a little under 14 weeks. I'm pretty happy with that. Figuring out what works with my pouch and what doesn't. Skim milk has become my preferred drink of choice. I'm finally able to cook some meals for the whole family that I can eat too. that took me a while. Down to size 18 from a 22. Kinda wish that it would go faster, but still happy. Well, that's about it. just wanted to say hi to everyone. Oh yeah, how do you post a new picture to my profile and for when I post?

Sherri, when you get in the taxi in Vegas there are 24/7 little booklets that are on the back of the seat and they are free...take one they are a wealth of information. Also there is a magazing size weekly magazine that lists all the freebies you can see while there. Your hotel should have them for you. There is also a good site called www.cheapolasvegas.com that has alot of really good information. Be sure and leave some money there for my to win in October...hee hee! HUGS! Marianne
