Good morning Hoosier Losers! I'm here at home having my breakfast of ff cottage cheese & cantaloupe. Bill has an eye appointment at 8, so I'm going into work late. I thought I'd pop on here before I get dressed & get him up to get ready. It has been so great to see all of these new approvals! Those of you who got a denial, don't get overly discouraged. Many of us post-ops were denied initially as well. You just have to have more perseverance than the insurance companies. Find out why they said no..then take away that reason. Need 6 months of physician supervised dieting? Get it or prove you've had it. Not medically necessary? Let your PCP, surgeon, and other doctors handle that one via letters. What ever the reason, dispel it! Any big weekend plans? I'm planning on going shopping. I need to pick me up some shorts to wear while we're in Vegas. I don't figure jeans are gonna cut it when it's 110 in the shade. I get to be warm for a full week!!! YEAH! LOL! Well..time to get Bill up. You all have a great day! Sherri

Thank Angie. The cornea is failing again..but we've known that for at least 6 months. The prognosis of anoher one having any more sucess than this one isn't good. Afterall, this one was likethe 3rd one for that eye. So..she wants to wait until he has problems functioning around the house before doing another transplant. Frustrating. Understandable, yet frustrating. Bill has an appointment with Dr. Price's group August 28th. Routine procedures won't do any good on his eye(s). Dr. Price is a leader in developing new procedures, techniques, and implants so we're hoping h will have some ideas of what can be done to restore some sight in at least one eye if not both. So..fingers are crossed. Sherri

Good morning friends and WLS family. I am sure glad it is Friday. This has been an up and down week for me. I fell again on Thursday afternoon and although I did not hit my knee directly it did not help it. My back is more painful then before. Can't wait until next Wed. when Dr Levein does my injections. Hopefully that will kill off some of the pain. Ann and I started to paint my new gym area and layed tile and installed our new spa. Well I started the project but soon was unable to continue due to the back pain. Ann hearded me back to the bedroom and finished it up herself. What a wonderfull wife I had, her being married to me has to a true gift from God (for me that is lol). The room is looking great, now all I have to do is get to the point where I can use all the equipment. Hope you all have a great weekend. Dan

a spa sounds great to me! I dont know what, but i did something to my back at work last night, and it hurts so bad I cant stand, sit, lay... it just hurts. There went my walking plans today, and that aggrivates me. My scale hasn't budged from 289 and I've been walking everyday to try to get that moving down some more. Only 8 more pounds to my first century mark (total, not post op)!

Dan it must be a week for falls, I fell Saturday going up my steps and fell back and landed hard on my butt, I saw the gyn and it caused me to open again, but she is going to see if it will heal on it own. So for right now I am supose to get to go back to work on July 12th I so hope. I would like to have a spa you tell Ann to think of me when she gets in it. Dan I know you are having alot of problems with the knee, but it is kind of like our weight it take a while to get it off and the knee needs time to heal with all the pain the weight has put on it. Be paciate(sp) , I know I have been try to be since I am not losing like I would like to. I may not be lossing but I think the inches are still going down even with out being able to walk or excercise. Thinking of you and Ann daily. Lisa B

No big plans this weekend, just trying to find things to keep all the kids happy during all this bad weather. We are having family game night. I went to a postop support group last night and met some neat ladies. Most of them were much further out than me and were working hard at not regaining. They had some good advice and interesting thoughts. Have a great Friday, Carmen
