Linda,
I had a revision when I was 6 months post-op due to complications. I have read of others further out (2 yrs plus) however who have had to have revisions due to their stoma stretching, etc. I think if I were in your shoes, the first thing I would do is break my measuring cups back out and get back to basics. I would be sure first that it's something I can't control myself.
At a year +, the average post-op can eat ~8-12 oz per meal. For breakfast & lunch, I have a measured 3 oz of ff cottage cheese, a sandwich baggie full of fresh melon/cataloupe (~1-1.5 cups). During the day, I'll drink 2 protein drinks of 20 g each (Achiev). For dinner I typically eat a salad that is 1-1.5 c of lettuce w/ ff dressing. I then eat 1/2 c meat, 1/2 c veggies. If I'm real hungry, I may eat 1 c veggies. My evening snack is usually 1 c Fiber One cereal (28 g fiber...30 g fiber/day is what my nut recommended). I'm hypoglycemic so I usually avoid starches.
Track your nutrients, water intake, exercise. I do this through SparkPeople.com. The following was recommended for me:
Calories: 1200-1400
Fat: LT 30 g
Protein: 80-100 g
Carbs: MT 100 g
Fiber: MT 30 g
SparkPeople will help you determine how much exercise you should be getting. It has demo's of exercises...many of which requires no special equipment at all and can be done in your own livingroom. I love how it helps me track my water. I have read however that most people require way more than the 64 oz (8-8 oz glasses) that we've all grew up hearing. My requirements calculated out closer to 120 oz/day..which, I typically get ~160 oz. Rule of thumb..yellow urine? Drink more water.
Once you are doing all of this...if you aren't seeing any progress (I'd allow 4-8 weeks for the weight to get moving), talk with Dr. Jones. There may be an unlying medical cause...such as the expanded stoma. She will probably have you get an endo and maybe an upper GI to see what shape your stoma & pouch are in.
Good luck...and please do keep us informed of how you're doing & what you find out. There's several of us right behind you that will be needing to get over these same bumps in the road.
