I have only lived here for about 18 mon. so I have no preferred hair salon yet. If anyone that lives out here on the Southside would like to recommend someplace they really like let me know! I hate having my hair done and would love to find someone that is kind, and good at it. I'm also looking for someone that can help me with my makeup. I need to have my colors done and advised on the latest trends and styles. I want to get back into the girl world!! LOL Thanks, Carmen

Carmen, I hear you girl! When I moved down here a little over 3 years ago finding a hair dresser was a nightmare...the quickie places in wal-mart are downright scary and I tried at least 5 different salons....from the mom & pop kind to Roberts...I came home ususally in tears and ended up cutting it more myself to look "normal" then about a year and a half ago I found this woman at the bank who had a real sassy cut...I asked where she went and she gave me the number of her gal...I went and I am sooooo pleased! I can now go in and sit back and relax and know that my cut is excellent and the style perfect for me. The gal I go to is in downtown Franklin so it is not too far for you. Her name is LaVonna Cox and her shop number is 317-736-0030. She is the only hair dresser there and her shop is in with a tanning place so they might answer the phone tanning and LaVonna's. good Luck Sweetie in your quest..great hair is a ust to geel great about yourself! Have a fantastic day! HUGS! Marianne

Carmen, I think the place I go to is Harific Salon. It's at 3327 Kentucky avenue. Their number is 481-0514 or 481-0515. Their hours are: M-F 9-8, Sat 9-5, Sunday noon-5. No appointment is neccesary. I'm not naturally blonde and they do the best job I've found in town so far of keeping my hair from looking like it's in a layered color nightmare. Other places just slap the dye on all your hair and stick you under a drier. They do the roots...get them lightened up. Then they do all the hair to blend the colors in. They also deep condition mine each time. They keep records on their computer so they know what you like. I live on the NE side..but work at Kentucky/harding/Raymond so I usually take the afternoon off of work for my re-touch-ups. Sherri

I really prefer to just go to Wal-Mart or some small salon like that. The people working there are usually straight out of cosmetology school so I seem to get great cuts and fun/hip colors. I try to stick with stylist who are around my age. Two of the best haircuts in my life have been from girls at Wal-mart's Smart Style who were straight out of school. Just something to keep in mind. sam
