I get them when I am stressed out or if I have been running a low fever alot of times in late summer due to hayfever. I use a cream that cost about 16 bucks, it is the best, but dang it I cant think of the name of it would know if I saw the package. fever blisters can be passed so maybe you got it from someone else. I have had them off and on since I was a kid...it is part of the herpes virus.. I get them when I am stressed or my tummy gets upset.. ZOVARAX from the Dr is the best!!! they have a cream for when you have the blister and a pill you take when you first feel the tingle of getting one.. I think I am growing out of them or am calming down because I dont get them often.. Linda

I would like to echo what Linda had to say on this topic. I had a grandmother that used to have fever blisters and loving as she was all her innocent kisses passed them on to almost all over her grandkids. Once in nursing school I learned how very contagious they were. Then I understood why we all had them. I had them always during finals week all thru college. Now that Im out I dont have them as much becouse my life isnt as stressful. However Im glad u reminded me of them so I'll be sure and have some cream with me after surgery. Zovarax is a godsend. I could never be without it. I have the cream and the pills also. I take the pills at the first onset and them the cream to give immediate relief from itching or pain. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if u have never had them and this is your first...it wont be your last. Good luck Mariah

I have gotten them since I was a kid. I've tried all of the over the counter treatments and rx. The best thing I have found is Melaleuca Oil. You have to buy it through a distributor, but you can get a trial size for just $1.99 and that will be enough to last for a year or more. I can help you get it if you would like to try it. If you put it on at the first tingle, it will keep it from becoming full blown. If you start after the blister has formed, it will dry it up in about 3 days. Just e-mail me if you are interested.
