I'm No Longer Obese!
Hi Sam~
Yeah, I'd love to come to the clothing exchange, I would have to make a long weekend out of it. Too far to drive there and back for just an afternoon! I hear the Indy zoo and Childrens museum is good...roadtrip!
My partner, April, has been exteremly supportive. She is the type of person who just wants me to be happy and will do anything to help. She was all for the surgery because she knew how back I wanted it. She did get frustrated b/c I was so sick and there was absolutely nothing that she could do to help me or make me feel better. She basically felt helpless. It was also a little hard for her to adjust to the new eating lifestyle. I didn't want any junk food in the house so they (April and her daughter Samantha) had to alter to food lifestyle as well.
April gets a little insecure now...she is afraid that I won't want to be with her anymore because I've lost weight. You can only tell a person so many times that you love them for them, not for their weight or body. You know what I mean? Her medical insurance doesn't cover the surgery. To be honest with you, she hasn't really made a true attempt to lose the weight on her own. I'm trying to get her to be more active with me and make better food choices.

The Zoo and Children's Museum are soooooo much fun! Great for adults AND kids (not sure how old Samantha is...great name!) Greenfield isn't but about 30 minutes from the zoo and museum too. I worry about Eric having the same insecurities when I lose weight. But I too was worried about him loving me currently at my size. Hopefully you will inspire April like you inspire all of us!
Sam
