APPROVED!?!?!

Yesterday I faxed over my Anthem Physician Verification form to get signed by Dr. Caccuci. I asked them to fax it back to me and I was planning on submitting for approval on Monday. So today I go to lunch and am telling my best friend how I have my packet together and am ready to submit, right now she is really the only one I am telling about this. I remember I need to call Dr. C's office to see if they got my fax etc. I just returned from lunch and had a voicemail message from Amy at Dr. C's office telling me they got my fax request but she had already send that form in on June 7th and on the 13th she spoke to an Anthem nurse and I AM APPROVED!! She said all she is waiting on is the hardcopy letter. How can this be?!? I haven't submitted anything! This has to be a mistake! I just ran outside (where I get cell phone reception and can breathe) and left her a message. I am waiting on her to call me back. I am afraid they have the wrong person! It just doesn't seem possible since I have yet to personally mail anything to Anthem!! So her is one little but I am not getting my hopes up till I speak with Amy!! Sam (OK one more )

Sam that would be awesome. Esp since they keep telling me its 4-6 weeks before they even look at your paperwork. They keep telling me they are so far behind. I sure hope they are right. Not fair to get your hopes all up like this to only be let down. Mariah

Sam, This reminds me of when my dad was approved. He also hadn't sent in his paperwork either...the surgeon's office did. He had pretty much decided that he wasn't going to go for it when he got the call from Dr. Huse office saying he was approved. It really puzzled him at first too. He did go ahead and have the surgery (open RNY) Feb. 2005 and is doing great. Congrats and I'm looking forward to the post saying that you heard Amy correctly! LOL! Sherri

Well I spoke with Judy *I Think* at Dr. C's office as well as got a voicemail from Amy. Looks like my physician faxed the letter straight to Dr. C's office so someone faxed that letter, Dr. C's letter, the psych letter, and nutritionist letter in. Anthem came back and requested a Physician Verification Form be filled out by Dr. C and then faxed back. She said the lady she had spoken with was a nurse she dealt with regularly. So it looks like I am officially approved!! There is an approval number and everything!! Amy is just waiting on my hard copy letter to schedule a surgery date! HOLY CRAP!!!! Sam
