I'm very upset today. In my 4 1/2 montht since surgery I've had a few days where I've stalled on wt loss but never a gain. I got on the scales this morining and I've gained 5 freaking pounds since Friday. How the heck is that possible? I've been walking 4 miles (up and down hills) every day. The only thing I ate (non allowed) was half a dinner roll. I may have been a little short on water intake. For you ladies that have gone thru the change or are in the process, do you still retain water at that time of the month even though you don't have a period? Any ideas? I use the same medical scales each time. Maybe someone broke them!

I know I having me eating more then I should. What about juice, are you taking alot in. Sometimes those jucies had a few too many calories. Lisa B

Hi... What I would suggest is walking away from your scale. You will go up and down and it gets a bit depressing after awhile. Maybe check it once a week at the same time of day. Then once every two weeks...etc. Our bodies work in cycles and yours will not stop losing weight for a long while so hang in there. Fantastic exercise! HUGS. Christina

Jan, I agree w/ Christina!! Step away from the scale. It is very common for our weight to flexuate on a regular basis. I only weigh myself 2 x's a month because I used to drive myself crazy. Jaimee

I agree I have had a lot of ups and downs.. I have bounced 10 lbs up and down for the past 10 months! One thing to look at is how many carbs you are getting, you may be so busy looking at sugar that the carbs are adding up, that has been my problem before..lol Good luck!! Michelle

Just an idea, but you really are doing some great exercise. Do you think it might be possible that you are gaining muscle. Maybe that could be a part of the equation. Just an idea.

ok. It had to be mostly water. Down 4 of those pounds today. I didn't feel bloated like I usually do with water retention. I know the scales are my worst addiction now. I shouldn't get on every day but with so many years of avoiding them because they always went up, it's nice to consitantly get on and see them go down every time. It's really a great motivator to keep me moving. One of these days I'll back off on the scales, but for right now it is too much fun. Thanks for all the ideas and support.
