Okay, I don't know what the deal is but I have had the biggest urge to snack lately! And its not the "good snacks" that I want ... I want salty things like Sunchips, crackers, popcorn, peanuts, etc. I will admit that it will soon be that time of the month, but I have NEVER been a "salt person". And the cravings are really bad...I woke up at 3am this morning and had a hard time falling asleep because all I could think about was Sunchips and sun iced tea!! I haven't been completely giving into my cravings but I am finding myself having a bite of this, handful of that. I am still 25-30 pounds from initial goal and I'm afraid that I'm never going to meet my goal is I don't stop this nonsense! Anyone else go through this? Do you have any advice? How do I work through this cravings? You can flame me, you can yell at me, I'm a big girl, I can take! Jaimee Lap RNY 8/31/05 365/200/175

Jaimee, I'm only 8 wks post op, so I have no advice. Just wanted to sympathize. I'm sure there are a few who are farther out that will respond soon with some helpful tips. Just a thought, since you are craving salty stuff, how about adding a little extra salt to the foods you are eating at meals. Maybe that will meet whatever need your body has and stop the cravings? Might be worth a try anyway. Good luck. Cindy

I get cravings for "dry" things......so I have incorporated those 100 calorie dorito packs into my daily routine. They are delicious and have 0 trans fats and I love them. I feel wicked and satisfied without the guilt! I also munch on the fabulous Kasi Go Lean Crunch cereal....it is awesome and my Dr. Recomended it for more fiber in my diet. Good luck sweetie you will make it! Hugs! Marianne

I munch on dry Fiber One cereal (Marianne..you might want to compare this to what you're munching on for fiber). Also, I get the pork rinds from BariatricEating.com. One serving has 130 calories, but 23 grams of protein if you have an ounce of other protein with it (it needs that to fini****'s protein molecules). I usually have an ounce of cheese with it. See? We all get those munchies...we just learn some healthy way to get our munch and keep everything else in check. Carrots? I can't keep them down no matter what so...pork rinds will do nicely..lol. I also have the occational 100 cal/bag popcorn. Sherri

I munch on celery and grapes.. and popcorn wont kill you... you get to eat alot because it is mostly air.. WATERMELON is awesome!!! lots of liquid and fiber.. I agree.. add a little salt to what you do eat... but I use Morton Lite salt.. or a substitute... we need water but dont need to retain it.. Linda
