Got Consult Appt ...........

Yipee! I got a date for my consult with Dr. Jones ( 6/7) I was surprised that it was so soon. OK can you pros let me in on what to expect at this visit? The secretary just took some basic info and gave me the date. Ah well I am excited ...... I'm on my way now, look out world here I come! Ok I know its a little premature, but I am just gearing up for the big hollabalooooo. Ok its off to beddy by for me. Blessings, Christine

Christine, At the consult, there will be several people there. I think there were around 20 at mine..plus their spouses or other support person...so ~40 people in the room. Dr. Jones gave a presentation about the RNY surgery & how it is performed. It is very informal so if you have a question along the way, feel free to ask it. After the 'in general' presentation, Dr. Jones meets one on one with anyone interested in having the surgery. You can get into your specifics at that time that you may not have wanted to ask in front of everyone..or just didn't think to. I am thinking that the dieticians also do your first weighing and maybe measurement on that date, but I slept since then so not entirely sure about that. Anyway, that's it. Pretty painless. Oh...while the one on one's were going on, there was someone in the room that was ~2 yrs post-op and was able to answer pretty much every question that was thrown at her. I don't know if that's a thing they usually do during the consults or not but if so, excellent idea. Number one question? Hair loss & how to prevent it. She said get in protein. I say , get in protein AND take Biotin (a b-vitamin). Sherri ps..My consult was with Dr. Jones but I switched toher partner for the surgery because her waiting list was so long.

20-40 people? Are you thinking seminar? I have an appt with Dr Jones at her office on 6/7 @ 9:30am. Surely there wont be all of those folks there, will there?

Yep, consult..which starts off as a seminar and then you have the one on one consult. Unless they changed things alot, that's the way it was.

No need to be. Everyone is going for the same reason you are. Anything that you don't want to say in front of everyone, just save it and say it during your one on one. You'll be fine. Honestly, it's one of the most painless things to the entire process. Sherri

Sherry told ya how it is.. except we had a discussion on all the surgeries and Dr Cacucci explained her success rate etc.. then took us back one by one and we discussed surgery.. Weighed and measured yep.. Linda
