Just wanted to let you guys know that they finally got my papers. It only took over a week. They said they posted them on Thurs but when I called then they werent in the system. Im just glad they are there NOW. I talked to a girl named Steph. She told me it would be 4-6 weeks before I had an answer. They said as soon as they have an answer that they call your surgeon first. Just thought I would let Sam and any others waiting to hear from Anthem what I found out. This waiting is killing me. I want to have SURGERYYYYYYYYYY Mariah

What a bummer! I haven't even submitted paperwork yet! Still waiting on my letter from Dr. Cacucci and Dr. Stote. Also need to get more medical history from my Dr.'s etc. Seems like letters aren't working and so I am going to have to make appointments at $20 a pop. Did contact an OBGYN around here to go get a Mirena IUD implanted. Hope our insurance covers that!! Hang in there Mariah! Good things come to those who wait! Sam

Hi Mariah, I have Anthem through the State of Indiana. They got my papers on March 27th and I just heard on Friday, may 12th that they approved me!! They said it would take 3-4 weeks. I also talked to Steph. I later learned that the Indiana Anthem staff only has two nurses reviewing the cases...be patient..hopefully you will get good new like I just did. Betina

Mariah, I was in the same boat also. Anthem received my request on Feb. 27 and I received my approval letter (dated April 19) on April 21! I thought it was NEVER coming and the waiting was SO hard. I suggest that you call Stephanie after 3 weeks or so to check on status, just to remind her that you're still out there, and then call back if you don't hear anything 10-14 days thereafter. I was really apprehensive about calling (because I didn't want to make anyone mad that held my fate in their hands) but finally when they'd had my request 6 weeks without word, I had to call. Once I did, I got my answer by the end of the same week - almost like they had forgotten about me. I do think it's true that they are understaffed. One thing to keep in mind - I'm not aware that anyone from Anthem ever called my surgeon (Dr. Inman). My surgeon's office told me the patient usually finds out before the office, so as soon as I got my letter, I faxed it to my surgeon's office to get the scheduling process started ASAP. You might want to be prepared to do that. GOOD LUCK waiting...I totally understand how you feel. I'll be praying for the time to go quickly and for you to get a positive result!

Thanks Katy, I'll be sure and check up on them in a few weeks, I did call my Dr. Cacucci's office today and explained to them that they had the wrong address on my letter. The said that they knew it was to go to Indy that it must have just been a mistake. She appologized then I explained I wasnt mad, just thought that they should know for future clients. Sam, What is this letter u need filled out for anthem, I didnt have one of those. I wonder if my drs letter covered it all or if I should send off for a form now and get to working on that. Also, All I got from the shrink was a one page paper that was in with Dr. C's paperwork that said I passed his eval. Did u get anything like that in your papers??? Mariah

I have Anthem BCBS also. They had me on hold for weeks, then when I called them they said that they had not received my psych evaluation! I had had it done the same day as everything else. So, I called and had it refaxed, and was approved in 6 hours! Dont be afraid to call em, they may just need some little something..and remember,,the squeaky wheel gets the grease! If I hadnt squeaked when I did, who knows if I would have ever heard! Good luck!

I also have Anthem through the state of indiana. I also talked to Stephanie and she told me it would be 4-6 weeks and it turned out to be 6 days. It was submitted to the RN for review on 5/4 and I was approved on 5/10. I would just keep calling them.
