Another Newbie

Hi Everyone. My name is Christine, I live in South Indy about 1/2 mile from St Francis South. I am hoping to have WLS I am going to a seminar on June 8th for Dr Rosemarie Jones Group (I hope to get her). I have been on disability for 15 years due to arthiritis in both knees (and weight considered I am sure) so my insurance is Medicare A&B. I am hoping to have surgery ASAP. I am a little concerned with the mortality rate, but the more I gain the worse the pain so I figure its worth it. Anyway I am looking forward to getting to know some other hoosier losers and supporting on another. Blessings, Christine

Welcome!! Feel free to ask questions, anyone here will be more than happy to help you in anyway we can. There is alot of great information out there. I too am hoping to have surgery. I got my packet in the mail the other day, I am just avoiding sending it in. Dr. Jones is such a sweet woman. Hope all works out well for you, and welcome again!!

Thanks for the welcome! I don't know what your packet is, but from the sounds of the gals on here you had better get it sent in. Maybe we will have surgery on the same date or at least close. Blessings, Christine

your moving along...i know st francis will be whatever it is they need to be for medicare in june i believe.....would be closer for ya,,,,is all i was thinking since support is so important..gosh this year has gone so dang fast,.. i just saw june 8th and was at first thinking gosh that sure is a long time away........but it isn't ....darn i have lost the whole year i guess... you sure came to the right place to make friends that are LOSERS...cos this board is full of LOSERS.........and hopefully you will be one real soon as well.....I got a job after my wls....so it is awesome being a loser.. you be sure to stick around...

I checked out Dr Clark first but he doesn't do revisions. I need one since I had the staple 28 years ago. So I moved on to the Dr Jones group. Thanks again for the welcome. I look forward to getting to know you. Blessings Christine PS your pictures are beautiful

Cristine, Your life is just beginning.. You have chosen a good step!! The way I thought of it was if I don't h ave the surgery I am just slowly killing myself anyway.. If I die I die.. get prayed up and ready before surgery... Then enjoy the journey!! I now have so many wonderful friends that are losers and so much support for my daily life... I would be scared to death to gain another pound for fear of being out of the circle I have developed in this exciting new life I have! Linda

Christine, Welcome!! Dr. Jones is terrific. I had went to her seminar but then switched to one of her partners (Dr. Gupta) because the waiting list was just so long for Dr. Jones. I have never regretted that decision. Over the course of time, I have been seen by all three of the surgeons there and Dr. Caccuci is a pretty terrific sergoen as well. You would be in excellent hands with any of the three. Feel free to come on here as much as you'd like. We do our best to try to help in any way we can at any point of your journey. Even if it means trying to kick your butt into gear (Scott!! ). We all understand how hard it can be and try to encourange, not critisize. We all understand how confusing it can be so we try to help explain. Sometimes, I personally, can get real wordy with that one....lol. Looking forward to getting to know you! Sherri
