Hi... I'm researching vitamins and I was wondering if anyone purchases the chewables and/or sublingual B-12 from bariatriceating.com? If so, do you know if they meet the "complete" requirements/dosages that we need post surgery? How do they taste? Thanks for any advice you can give!

Hi, I bought chewable vitamins, chewable calcium, chewable iron and sublingual B12 from bariatricadvantage.com. I believe that bariatriceating.com carries the BA brand also. Just a warning, the chewables are ok at first, but your taste buds will change on you somtime after surgery. I caught a stomach virus 2 weeks post op and from that point on I couldn't stand the taste of any of the chewable stuff. I'm 5 weeks post op now and just got permission to buy tablets that you swallow. I was thrilled! Good luck. Cindy

Thanks, Cindy. I think the ones I was looking at are from bariatric advantage. Thanks for the advice. I'm trying so hard to be prepared, but it seems like so much changes after surgery, full preparation may not be possible!

You are absolutely right! Being fully prepared is impossible! I did the exact same thing...trying out protien bars and drinks, buying vitamins, etc. Some of it worked out, some of it didn't. The good thing about going ahead and trying to do the exploration thing is that it keeps you busy for one thing. Plus it opens your mind to trying new things (flavors, tastes, textures) and that is all important. Because after the surgery, you need to be open to trying new things in order to find out what works for you. Getting in the right mindset now just makes it easier to follow through with after surgery. So I say go ahead, experiment a little. Don't spend tons of money, but try a few things. Bariatriceating.com has some sample packs of protein mixes and bars that aren't too expensive and they give you several things to try out. And once you have your surgery, keep up your new adventurous nature. There is a world of opportunities just waiting for you to join "the losing side". Cindy
