New here.....

WOW! All of your responses so far have been such a blessing. Linda....great to "meet" somebody from my own county. I have asked two facilities (St. V's and Community South) to send me information. I am just in a fact-finding mode at the moment although I am beginning to lean toward belief that the surgery (probably lapband) IS for me...............I'm so stinking tired of struggling and never losing weight. I have a huge appetite. Huge! Haven't checked with insurance yet. St. V's offered to do so on my behalf and I have filled out a form giving them permission to do so. At least when I get the answer back from that I will know how to proceed ........... I won't have to go there if I decide not to. There really isn't any place that is going to be very CLOSE to me. Bloomington would be closer than anything else and more convenient and they do the surgery, but, so far I haven't read anything about them. Hi Kathy, I'm just 5 weeks post-op. Dr Steven Clark did my surgery at Community Hospital South. It was great. The nursing staff was wonderful, very attentive to my needs. They never once entered my room without asking if there was anything I needed and reminding me that I only had to call them if I needed anything later. Dr Clark is very good. And he has a great since of humor. Good luck with your insurance. You just need to check with them to find out if they cover wls and if so, what their specific requirements are. Most are pretty similar, I think. Cindy
