May or may have not strained/pulled something around my stomach saturday trying to push a car What pain relievers do i need to stay away from? Ive been sore for a few days and not sure what to do. I feel great other than the pain and other than that everything is normal.

First. Shame on you for trying to push a car. You are only 4 wks out. remember no lifting over 10 pounds for 6 wks?? I think you can only take tylenol. I'd call the Dr office though and ask if you may have done something. That is what they are there for.

Well for pulled muscles u are better with an anti-inflamatory like Mortin or Advil. I know Motrin comes in a liq form. Tylenol and asprin are better for fever. Hope this helps. Nurse Ratchet Mariah RN

No Advil........ That is one thing I am going to miss is my Advil. In my class they said we must take tylenol. I would check with your Dr. office. Hope you feel better! Teres

Is that something they tell you after u have the surgery??? I didnt know u cant have anti inflamitorys with this surgery. I think if that was the case his dr should have told him? I havent received any info that u cant take them however I just knew it came in liquid form. Hmmm Guess its always best to call your drs office with any questions....Thats why they make the big bucks. Mariah

I myself take advil and I am 4 years out. I was in heaven when advil went to liquid. Now the problem with advil is.....if you take it all the time it can eat a hole. I only take 1 capsule (but had to take two a few times) as needed. But I will not take more than three during a "ache". Now I have no stomach for it was removed. My pouch is about 4 oz . And DON'T ever do something so straining for a long time! Now I was cut from under breast to above belling button so if I would have pushed a car, my surgeon would have kicked my butt! Hope you get feeling better!

It was a Funny Car at the dragstrip.....this one here. http://www.alexander-grant.com/05062006_ET.JPG The doc called back today and said 400 mg ibuprofin 3 times a day for 3 days. If its still painfull then get my ass to them.
