Hello Friends,

It has been a weird week. I was offered the position I spoke of on Tuesday.

On Monday, in the first interview with the wife, a 31 y/o chiropractor, I was told i would work from home doing all the billing. She told me I had the job, but had to meet with her husband, the owner of the company the next day.

On Tuesday, the husband, an 82 y/o millionaire, who insisted on interviewing me in his Porsche Panamera, wanted to talk to me alone. He told me with a smile on his face, that he didnt trust fat people, had never employed a fat person and only would consider me because his wife always gets what she wants and she wanted me. He also told me since he didnt trust me, I would be working from his office in his house in Naperville, not at my home. He also told me in his former life he was a professional assertive coach and charges 10s of 1000's of dollars to teach people to better themselves and he would allow a 3 month stint on a 1099 ( because he doesnt hire fat people) and if I lost weight from his free training he would consider hiring me then. I was stunned and went home and sobbed as I told my husband the story. G wanted to call him up and tell him off, but i said I would handle it. The next day I called Dr. Emme and told her i couldnt take the job. She begged me to meet with her and when I did, she was so angry when I told her what happened. She told me her husband was an a--hole and if i gave it a chance she would make sure I worked from home. But i couldn't. I worked for a bully for 12 years and gained 100 lbs. i knew I would be miserable. I have more interviews coming up. But the remarks from Van have made me second guess my looks. I wonder if i am too old and fat to be ever considered again for a decent job? I'm 57 y/o and weigh 250lbs. Who can look past that see I am still a person with value? I am praying about it.

Tonight we are having a 12 hr prayer vigil at church and i will be trying to see how long I last. It goes from 7p to 7a on Sat. Keep me in your prayers. i will be also praying for all of you as well.

I worked at the auction yesterday.  It's a very physical job and my body aches the next day. i feel like i have been dancing all night, when I awake the next morning. Isnt that a hoot?

Going to go take a nap since I will be awake all night (hopefully)

Hugs my dear ones.

May our Father bless each of you today.

Sharon

Happy Friday,

All I have on my plate today is fixing a couple of things to take to the Seder tomorrow evening, and to get ready to meet friends and family for dinner in Dwight this evening. Otherwise, I am sure I will find something to do.

Hugs,

Lisa

Not much going on with me. Work, Legion fish fry and sleep in on Saturday.

What is happening in your neck of the woods?

Good morning Illinoisans!

We started our Easter Egg hunt for discounts yesterday and it's been fun so far. Today should be a normal day and probably tomorrow. Holiday times in retail are always a guess. Regulars go out of town but visitors come in also. What a learning experience!

Easter we will spend with Kelly's family which will be fun. The baby is 19 months old and repeats whatever you say to her! Fun! There's a picture of her on my FB post from last week. She's a cutie!

A friend brought in a salad package from Costco which had kale, broccoli cranberries, and a bunch more. It was really great. We don't have Costco so I'll have to see if our stores carry it. Really yummy!

Have a great day!

Good Morning,

I am normally up until 11:30 or so. If I go to bed any earlier, I will be up by 3, and not able o get back to sleep. I generally am up by 5:30 or so.

My pland for today are to dodge the raindrops and go shopping and run some errands. Make my appointment for a mammo. I have already called in to unemployment to re-establish my unemployment.

Yesterday was such a great day, I even went out and played in the dirt a bit.

Remember, April showers will bring May Flowers.

Hugs,

Lisa

I just "had" to stay up and watch Restaurant Impossible last night! My brain is screaming you fool - I am beat.

Well, you know what I am doing today - keeping the tooth picks in my eye lids to keep them open. What is happening in your neck of the woods?

Hello everyone

Well this time tomorrow I will be in Washington!!!  Yeah!!!  I hope the expected rain won't cancel or delay the flight.

When I get home I will pack and get everything ready for the morning.  We have to be up and ready by 3am.  Ugh!!! So it will be something easy for dinner tonight.  Like maybe a rotisserie chicken from Jewel.

Lisa- when I was a kid I thought my grandpa was lucky because his SS check was more than I was making at McDonalds...LOL.  I was like...wow he didn't even work and he got that money.  LOL.  Kids, the way they think.

Well I can't wait till the end of the day so I can start my vacation!!!  Have a good day all.

No foolin, We are going to have a wonderful April Fools Day. High in the 70's, that is no joke. I can live with that. Especially since I am now on layoff, I get to enjoy the day.

My first order of business is to sign up for unemployment. My pet peeve with this is because I get S.S., the state of Illinois will not give you your entire unemployment. They withhold at least 50%. The argument is that if you are getting S.S, you don't need a full unemployment. Excuse me, but if I had a better S.S, I wouldn't be working.

Anyway, I want to change sheets this morning, and do some more in the bedrooms, then head out and get some dirt on my hands. I want to make a new shade garden in the back yard, to match the one I planted last summer.

It is nice to see you Nancy. I hope you get hired by the new company.

Thank you Christine. I didn't think of Holland America.

Connie, I was thinking of Canada too.

Have a prank free day,

Hugs,

Lisa

Hi friends,

We love Holland America because it isn't so party focused as many others. Alaska is fabulous! We've been 3 times and would go again in a second! We also cruised Boston to Montreal twice and went to Nova Scotia those times. We took the Windspirit thru the Panama Canal--only 150 passengers--most amazing ship! It's a part of the Windstar cruises--they are just amazing! Panama City to San Jose, Costa Rica. CR is absolutely beautiful and the after tour is worth every penny!

I hope everyone is healing. This cold season has been my worst but I feel good now. The store is busy and we are having a ball. Who knew work could be so fun!
