I agree with Crystal. These yucky days suck. I am ready for pool time, plus, I need to get started on tanning if we are taking a cruise in June. I really don't want to go to a tanning booth.
I did go get some groceries this morning. Now I am going to make chili for supper. I think (hope) that this will be last time until fall.
Who has plans for the weekend? I am meeting my daughter Annette for lunch tomorrow. That will be it for this weekend.
Huggers,
Sorry I missed your post yesterday.
I will have to post my before and after pic at some point when I have time (and I'm not at work).
Oh I am hating this rainy weather we are having. I am wanting to get outside and dig into my garden. Looks like next week will be a good week.
Me an my husband both still work. He works in computers and drafting and I work in accounting. It would be nice to be retired have more time to do all the things you always put off because you have to work.
We're supposed to go to the gym today. That will be good...I need that.
Well got to get going.
Me again checking in. Raining here today near St Louis but I did get a 3 mile walk in at the park with my rescued boxer Lily. She LOVES to walk and keeps me very active which definitely helps with keeping my weight stable. I am very cautious about regain as I do NOT want to go back to the before me. I still measure my food when I am at home and track on my fitness pal every day. I also have a before picture posted on my frig to keep me from eating those things I shouldn't. Busy day today with housework and helping serve a meal for seniors at city hall. Hubby is retired and we do lots of community service work to keep us busy. Before and after pics to follow. Have a great day everyone!
Welcome, Karen!
Yippee!!! A new friend!
I am Dawn, and I had my surgery about 10 years ago.
I was a slow loser and stopped losing about 40 lbs. from my goal. I became alcoholic and threw all the rules out and gained probably 25-30 lbs. I went to treatment, got sober and have allowed sugar and junk back into my life. Sugar is as addictive as alcohol and they are closely related. I've gained back to my surgery weight, another 25-30 lbs.
I'm now fighting that regain with exercise and diet changes. It is hard. My advice is to never let those things back into your life and keep doing what you are doing. Getting back to basics is difficult.
I live in the northwest corner in a tiny village called Rock City. We are close to the Wisconsin border and I actually work in Wisconsin. I am 54, have a husband of almost 24 years and three children, the youngest soon to be 20. I have a 17 year old grandson and a granddaughter that is soon to be 10.
We DO seem to do a better job of keeping in touch on Facebook, where I am Dawn E. Bertelsen. We keep private issues here and weight loss related questions here also.
I am glad you have joined us! Keep visiting and keep in touch!
Welcome, you are doing awesome. I am Lisa, I grew up in East St Louis, originally from
St. Louis, and I love the Alton area. I now live in Streator, with my hubby of 50 years. We have 2 grown daughters, 2 great son in laws, and an awesome almost 18 y.o. granddaughter who will graduate from Bloomington High School next month.
We try to post on here everyday, but lately it doesn't happen that way. That's ok. Our small group is close. And we care for each other. Please come back often, We want to get to know you.
I am on Facebook as Lisa Silberberg Tucker. Friend me.
Now I have to hurry and get ready for work.
Hugs to our new member.
Hello there
I am Crystal I am a regular on the Illinois board. To be honest I don't even know where Alton is...let alone Brighton. I live in the outskirts of Joliet.
I am 7 years from my Band surgery. Lost about 185lbs. Started out at 360lbs. Would like to lose a bit more but seem to play around with the same 5 lbs. lately. But hey I can't complain I have done really well.
I spend most of my days here at work and then at home with my husband.
That's about it for me. It's nice to meet you. Hope to see you here more often
I've been on OH for several years but never realized til today there is an Illinois forum. A bit about myself first. I had RNY August 29,2012 at a high weight of 272. I lost down to 120 to 123 and have been there since. I am faithful about following the rules, tracking and measuring every bite I eat when at home. I also exercise 11/2 hours nearly every day and post about every day on the RNY forum. I am 56 years old and have two grown sons who no longer are in Illinois. I live north of Alton in a little town named Brighton and had my surgery at Depaul hospital in Bridgeton Missouri. Anyone near me? Raining here and I'd best get back to the housework!
Happy Friday, This week has flown. I didn't have time for anything it seemed.
Nothing happening here. a very boring time. We have been trying to work on the garden, between rains. Hubert is also trying to burn some old wood, not good enough to recycle even. It is the old fence that went down with the tree last fall.
I will be working another 5 weeks, then off for the summer. I don't think we will be working at all during the summer, but I could be wrong.
Have a great weekend,
Hugs
Good afternoon Lisa and the rest of Illinois!
I am just checking in quick after lunch.
Things here are good. I may just have volunteered to be a speaker at an Alumni gathering from my treatment center. Very trepidatious, but what will be, will be. That's my biggest piece of news and it's not even news yet. I just told them that I had never done it, but could try. We will see.
I am enjoying the weather and the, "Week of the Young Child" here at work. It is a celebration all week long and I have a door covered with thank-you art from the kiddos!
Have a great day!
Hello everyone
Well Greg caught whatever bug I had. I was hoping he would be spared. It's so nice outside this weekend I was really hoping he wouldn't catch it. He has time to get better...lets hope.
Greg's dad was in town yesterday and came over for dinner and ended up spending the night. It was nice seeing him.
Oh I forgot to tell you that mean boss I used to have that was so horrible to me...well she is gone!!! Friday was her last day!!! Not that it effected me much because she wasn't my boss anymore but I feel it makes for a more peaceful work environment in general. They threw a going away party for her Friday and I was on the fence about going. I finally decided I would go...that I would put any petty feelings aside and forgive and say good bye. But as it happened I got sick and really didn't feel up to a party and went straight home to rest. So being sick has it's perks....I didn't have to go to the party after all...LOL!!!
I also wanted to mention I got a new smar****ch. It's like a Fitbit but better. It's from Microsoft. A coworker had one and she made it sound great and I wanted one for awhile. I won a $100 gift card at work and used that toward the purchase. It's great. You can do everything a Fitbit does plus it tracks heart rate and connects to your phone so I can get my emails, texts...so on my watch. I can also listen to my music on that is on my phone. So it's nice because I don't have to bring my phone with me when I workout...I just have my watch.
Greg was thinking about getting a lawn care company to fertilize and whatever else they do...our lawn is full of weeds and what not. But I can't seem to find any that have a good rating on Yelp.
Well....time for me to go...See ya later
