Topic: May Day Roll Call

Hi Peeps,

What glorious weather for this first day of May.

i am on the mend. My back and body hurt from coughing. I sound like a dog with kennel cough but the fever is finally gone. I've been rubbing my chest and back with essential oils every nite before bed. I can sleep without hacking.

Work yesterday was disheartening. The owner let his chef walk out yesterday because he cut his pay in half. The rest of us were told in order to keep our jobs we would have to take a cut in pay also. Since the business is only open 2 days per week, it's not the way I would have done it, if I managed his place.  But,  I agreed because I really like this job and I make great tips. But morale will not be good. Oh by the way, the owner just bought a million dollar town house. His kitchen help are all young illiterate men who live in Englewood and make less than minimum wage. Sad.

On a brighter note, I have a date tonight. We are going to Greek Town in the city.

What's happening in your world?

Hugs,

Sharon

Hello everyone

Yesterday the electricity went out so we got to go home early.  That was a nice unexpected treat.  A really good power outage seems to happen about once a year around here.  Last year we were down for a day and half.  I think the infrastructure isn't very good.

Today after work I have to go to Walgreens and workout and that's it.

I hate slow days at work the make the whole day go by really slow.

Well time to get back to work....enjoy your day all

Good Morning,

I hope today goes better then yesterday. I don't care what I ate yesterday, it didn't stay down.

We are heading to Bloomington later today, Hubert wants to stop at Lowe's and at Sam's Club, before we head to Morgan's concert. I want to stop at Hobby Lobby.

Otherwise, it will be a typical day.

Hugs,

Lisa

Not much going on with me. Man, I am getting boring. Work is a little slow so it gives me a chance to sit down with some FOIA training and recertify. I got part way though the changes in the law but was interrupted several times.

When it comes to a dressing I am not crazy about a salsa or balsamic dressing. I do not have salad very often because lettuce goes to waste in our house. Dave can only have iceburg and he gets bored with it. I prefer Romaine. When I do have a salad in the house I love Zesty Italian because a little goes a long way - meaning that it coats really well and you only need a little or I will have a ranch. I only use full calorie for ranch because the low fat or fat free taste HORRIBLE!

Chrystal, I use basamic vinagars a lot on salads. Even my favorite fruit salads.

 NO CALORIES!!!

Hello everyone

Starting this weekend we are going to be packing things up.  Getting everything ready to move.

Now is the calm before the storm.

Tonight is my boneless skinless baked buffalo wings...actually they are just chicken breast cut up and marinated in sauce and baked.  It's good.  And then I have a salad.  He will have mac & cheese.

Oh by the way this will sound very weird.  Instead of salad dressing I use salsa.  It's much less fat and calories (and more natural) and very tasty.  I started to use it when I made taco salad and thought why not use this for a regular salad.  When I was comparing calories. I thought...what the heck.  Who cares about what everyone else does.  It's better for you and less calories...and I have been doing it ever since.

Well time to get back to work...have a good day all

Happy Hump Day,

Yesterday I planted Hostas in the "new " garden. Today, I want to finish repainting the lighthouse I made a couple of years ago. I am also going to clean up our veggie garden, so Hubert can till it this afternoon.  I am not sure, but, I also need to get mulch for the new garden.

A lot to do, we will see what gets done.  Dinner plans for tonight.

Tomorrow night, we will be heading to Bloomington, to Morgan"s last concert for the year.

Friday, I get to see my two favorite Doc's. Dr. Guskie for my yearly visit with him, and Dr. Sauri for my yearly heart visit.

Now it is time to get to work.

Hugs,

Lisa

Home from running an errand at Wally World and going in for the follow up for the contacts. She bumped me up to 300 from 250 on the close-up and it seems real good right now. It will take the brain a bit to catch up and adjust/focus.

Going to just chill for the evening.
