Hello everyone

I came home yesterday and all my flowers needed a drink badly.  I could have waited another hour because another hour the skies opened up and poured buckets on my flowers.  They look all perky now.  I was worried about over watering them because of the clay soil holds in moisture (at least that's what I read).  I checked them the day before and although the soil looked dry from the surface when I stuck my finger in the ground it felt a little moist.  So I was hesitant to water them.  I came home from work yesterday and they looked pathetic.  I was worried I went too far.  So note to self....don't worry so much about over watering...LOL.

I would like to do more planting but I know Greg would like to slow down on the spending till after the honeymoon.  I guess two big trips, buying a car and moving into a house in one year is kind of tough on the wallet. So I will finish up with the mulch and clean things up and just let things be for this year.

I have absolutely nothing going on the next couple of days.  I have to go to Walmart after work.  That's it.  So I will putz around the house and get things done I didn't get done when I was to sore to move.

Well time to get going....have a good day.

Hello everyone

Good news is I'm not sore anymore.  So that's good.

I am pretty much decided that I am getting Greg the Hawks jersey for his birthday.  I couldn't believe how much money they are.  He will never buy this for himself.  They are $170.  So this will be a big splurge item for him and he will love it.

Anyway now that I am feeling better I am half tempted to go get the mulch and finish up the front flower bed, after work.  I also have to go to Walgreens.

You know I have to buy a bustier for my wedding dress and I just can't believe how much they are.  I mean just my undergarments are going to be about $100.  Geesh.  At least my shoes are cheap...I'm wearing flip flops....LOL.

Well I better get going.  Have a good day my peeps

Hi everyone!

I went to the Farmer's Market this morning and got some really fresh arugula and some baby greens, strawberries and rhubarb. I love it that this market is so close to work that I can get there before I go to the store. Fresh arugula for lunch with a microwave scrambled egg on top. Can't get any better than that!

That's about all that's new here. Looking forward to the shoppers today!

Happy Hump Day!

It is the day to start planning your weekend.

I am paying those dreaded Real Estate Taxes this morning. At least the checks are all written out. It will depend if I go out today, if they get payed today or tomorrow. I am a person if there is a bill to pay, a phone call to return, something needed to get, I will take care of it the first day. Then I can relax and forget about it. Hubert, on the other hand, will wait until the last day. He is going to a new doctor on Friday, and still hasn't fill out his info sheets. I was going to get them out and put them on his desk, well, they have been moved. Not by me. Anyway, it is his problem, not mine.

Have a great day,

Hugs,

Lisa

Hi guys,

keurig still makes the regular one that takes the k cups. I was looking at I them yesterday at Macy's I was going to buy one for my daughter but she didn't want it.

I'm still in Chicago till Saturday. Then I'm going to Michigan to pick up my dog in Lansing. He is at my sister's house.

We will leave for home on Sunday.

My kids moved to their new apartment in Skokie. It is very nice.

Much bigger than the 2 bedroom they did have.

Hi Friends,

i am going to the library today. I have been reading a lot this spring and that has been such a treat for me.

Crystal, my entire body throbs when I leave work on Thursdays. It is a very physical job and I am on my feet for 8 hours. The worst thing I can do is just go home and sit. I have to keep going or my body stiffens and it then hurts to sleep that night. I ask myself why every week. I've had the job 8 months and it still happens every week......I have a Mantis tiller. G got it for me for Christmas one year. If you have a large area to till it's better to just have someone come out in the spring for $50. But if you have areas you need to work here and there the little tiller is awesome to have. I also love my wheel barrel. Saves the back. Watch the sales and its best to get these things at the end of the season.

I hate watching hockey.....but G loves it so I sit there and watch it with him. It's a total waste of 3 hours but.........it's what us wives must do to.........

Coffee tastes so good today, I think I'll go get another.

Hugs,

Sharon

It is looking to be a beautiful day.

All I have going today is coffee on the deck with a neighbor.

I love my new Keurig.  The only thing is that it won't take the older k cups. Keurig will replace them. I am waiting on a consideration on that.

Hugs,

Lisa

Hello everyone

What a storm yesterday...hail and everything.  I got home before it started.

Today I am having Greg grill because it's the only day I see this week with no chance of rain.  So I can plan my meals accordingly.

It looks like a good chance of rain on my birthday....Booo!!!!  I was just saying how having a June birthday is the best because you always have great weather.  I jinxed myself!!!  No kidding though, growing up I always had nice sunny days on my birthdays.  Sometimes a little hot...but who cares.  One year my girlfriends and I camped out in my back yard in a big tent and told ghost stories and roasted marshmallows.  Ahhh...those were the days.

I love my birthday...who cares if we are getting older!!! It's a reason to celebrate!!!  I'm excited. Greg was teasing me about my birthday gift.  He kept giving me clues.  I can't wait to see what it is.  We are going to the Cheesecake Factory....my favorite place!!!  And I am having a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake!!!!  Because calories don't count on your birthday!!!

Which leads me to the fact that I am so undecided on what to get him for his birthday.  It's July 7th.  I was thinking a new grill.  But I don't know.  Then he was talking last night how he would like a Hawks jersey but they are so expensive.  Maybe I could get him that???

Sharon-  Yes I want a tiller and Greg is getting some kind of 4 wheel thing instead of a wheel barrel.  He wants it for the grass.  He bags the grass.  He doesn't want to mulch it.  He says you can choke the lawn doing that....whatever (it's a guy thing).  Anyway he says it will be easier to wheel the bags around with this thing.  So I will just use that.  It sounds like a wagon with industrial wheels...a wagon on steroids.

I am feeling less pain.  I still have pain in my lower left side in my hip and thighs.  So getting better.  Hopefully by the weekend I will be able to get the mulch down and trim that bush down and post a picture.

Well better get going.  Have a wonderful day.

When I look at the weather I first look at the percentages for my zip code and I also look on several different weather sites first. I find the most dependable site to be weather.gov. It is NOAA weather. When it says 20 or 30% chance then that is 80 or 70% chance it will not rain in your area. For my area 60143 the only day that I would watch would be Friday at 90% and I really do not care about that day because we will be in the Dells. I follow 4 different site, NOAA, WeatherBug, weather.com and Weather Underground. I think that Tommy Skilling mentions WeatherBug on his broadcasts and I highly respect him for accurate weather info and I do believe he pulls in info from NOAA.

Off to do a couple things in the yard. I need to trim three evergreens and hopefully I will not disturb my hummer girls because I will be on that side of the 3 season room. Well, since I started writing this it started to sprinkle and thunder - no power tools for me.

Off to unpack Dave's groceries instead.
