Welcome to the first day of August. Or, the dog days of summer.
We took off yesterday and went to play in Iowa. It was nice to get away alone and enjoy ourselves.
I also stopped and went to a book sale in Ottawa. 22 books later, and we were on our way.
Today, I am heading to the store, then home to work on a small project, if I can find the right piece of wood.

Hello everyone
I will get outside today. What I have been working is...lets see if I can explain. Well, you know the black dividers they use to separate the grass from...lets say a garden. They used that with the paver brick too (to separate the grass and the brick). And grass is now growing on the wrong side of black divider. It looks very messy. I sprayed the grass with weed killer and waited for it to die. And then I went at. It takes a lot of elbow grease. I got half of it done last time and my arms were sore and I was sweaty...it was so hot and humid out there. I think after I am done with all this I will take the pressure washer and spray all this brick.
Today we are grilling pork chops. That's about it for my plans.

We were finally able to get in the pool yesterday afternoon. 3 guesses where I am heading out to today.I also am going to work some more on the new walkway. That way, when I get hot, I can jump into the pool.
Hubert surprised me yesterday by bringing home 2 lobster tails. I will grill them tonight, along with sweet corn and some shrimp. Fresh garden tomatoes, and a small dessert.
I had been busy all morning yesterday, and didn't realize that the AC wasn't working. Hubert got home and said it was hot in the house. He called our repairman, and he was here within 15 minutes. Got it fixed and gone within 10 min. Something to say about small town living.
The only casualty yesterday, was a grome. He got hit with a brick and broke both legs off. I brough him in, and repaired him, using E6000 glue and replaced him in the garden. Sometime today, I want to start on a fairy house to put in the garden too. Maybe next to the grome I broke.

Hello everyone
The days have been so hot. I haven't been able to do much outside. I don't want to make myself sick. I wish we had some shade trees. That's one thing I hate about newer subdivisions. All of the trees are these little baby trees. Nothing is big enough to shade you. You are forced to buy awnings or those tents or umbrellas. We have no shade on our patio and we soon found out that you just bake out there. Our umbrella does little to shade you. We really need to get an awning...but not this year.
We are getting tents set up for the party. We will need them rain or shine. I just have to convince Greg that some things will have to be rented. He wants to be able to borrow everything. I want to fore go that hassle and just rent. I know it will be an expense but it won't be a hassle and everything will match and look nice. And they set up and take it down for you. But of course Greg is thinking we can borrow everything we need. Ya, chairs and tables and tents for 30 people. Ok. I don't want to argue but I want things to be nice for our guests. Not slapped together like some hillbilly. Ugh...what am I going to do... Wait till he finds out I plan on decorating....LOL.
Today after work I will be picking up dinner. A rotisserie chicken. And doing some groceries.

It's wet out there again. Our power was off at sometime during the night.
Today I want to clean the bottom freezer on the frig., I also need to refill the bottom of the sink. I cleaned it out last week, but yesterday when I needed to get a stock pot out, it was filled (about 3 inches) with water, I was not happy. Hubert fixed it, but the bottom was wet and he wanted to keep a fan on it for the evening, and I didn't want to make any noise while he was sleeping.
I also recaulked the bathtub yesterday. It needed it.

This week is flying by.
I need to pack up some stuff for the resale shop this evening and we have someone coming over to PU a bike we are donating to the bike ministry at Willow. They fix up bikes and give them to the homeless at PADS shelters.

I thought I might get ut to the pool this afternoon, but a storm front is approching, so another day will do.
I did get some sweet corn this morning, fresh off the farmers truck. that is the best kind.
Right now I am havng a stuffed tomato, with chicken salad, for lunch with some blueberries.
Crystal. The girls probably are planning something. Enjoy being the center of attenion

Hello everyone
I don't have much planned this week or this weekend.
There is just not much going on right now. I think it's the calm before the storm.
I could be wrong but I get this feeling that the girls at work I have some kind of party or shower planned for me. Like I said I could be wrong.
I know I keep being asked if I am getting excited. To be honest it doesn't feel real yet. It still feels far off. I think once I start packing and getting ready for the trip. Then the excitement will be there. Right now I am anxious to go...I can't wait. But the excitement of...OMG it's almost time!!! Isn't there yet.
Well I better get going. I am doing two people's jobs this week. Have a good day
