Good morning,Illinois!
I hope each and every one of you are doing well and having a great day.
I am at work, going through the morning routine. I only work three days next week, so I am a fortunate, grateful person.
After work, I think I will pick up something for dinner and maybe a movie. The next three days are going to be very busy.
We did the Ice Bucket Challenge last night and made the evening news. We did not have as big of a turn out as last year, but we raised some funds and had a good time. The weather was much better this year. Olivia even did it at campus after she got done with her last class. We did something right raising that one.
That's about it for me today. Everyone have a wonderful day and a safe weekend!

Good morning Lisa and the rest of Illinois!
Quick one for me today, I am busy at work.
After work, I am going into Rockford to meet Todd at the Second Annual Bruce Whitehead Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS. At least the weather is better this year.
Tomorrow, work then the long weekend. Saturday is a big party day for Todd, beginning with gold at 9:00 am. I will probably go for a bit, maybe for the horseback ride at 3:30. Sunday would have been Bruce's birthday and I hear the friends are getting together and Monday is the Lawn Tractor Pulls. Some time, I will have to clean my kitchen and bathrooms for Monday.

Hi and good morning everyone,
Good luck with you in getting your new eyeglasses and in whatever else you need to do today.
Sorry for not being on the Illinois Forum for awhile. I've been busy off & on for awhile. Today I need to go up to Kmart to get a few things, do some apartment cleaning and a few other stuff too. Today I'll be getting ready to go to Wrigley Field for three games in a row (Sept. 4th, 5th, 6th) to root for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Also, sometimes this month I'll go to the DMV to take my driving test, my aunt will let me use her car to take the test, I hope I pass.

Good Morning Friends,
Crystal, just a thought, why not keep a big fuzzy sweater at work, so when it is freezing in there, you can wear it. I had one in my one office, since we didn't control the heat, and it was set on 69 at all times.
This morning I have to drive over to Peru to pick up my new glasses. I couldn't pick them up yesterday, they didn't email me until after 2, and I had to be in Ottawa by 3, to see the eye specialist from Gailey Clinic. Then we were meeting friends for an early dinner in Ottawa.
So, I get to drive to Peru, then back to Ottawa to pick up a new winter pool cover, the store closes early, before I was out of the eye dr. Then home to finish cleaning the house for the weekend.
Back to my eyes, I have something in my left eye that was caused by to much exposure to the sun as a child. I can't pronounce it, but no problem. He also found some possible gacoma. He said he will see me in 4 months, to see if it has developed or not. So, it is a wait and see thing.
Crystal, I will agree with Dawn. You had a great party. We really enjoyed meeting Amanda and Charles, your in-laws, who btw, adore you and Amanda, Brenda, and especially Greg.

Hello everyone
I hear it's hot there. I wouldn't know, I've been in here freezing all day.
On a good note....we got our marriage license in the mail yesterday!!! I can finally go officially change my name. We can also change our benefits at work too. We are paying double right now. Seems silly, when Greg can add me on his for $0. Ya, what a nice perk. I will be saving close to $200 a month by dropping my insurance.
Tonight we are returning all of the party stuff we borrowed. Then we are going to take his friends out to eat. Our way of thanking them for their help.
Talk about cupcakes. I have to say I had the best cupcake I ever tasted last weekend. Sunday we went downtown to a hot sauce fest. Of all things they had a vendor selling cupcakes. It was the only thing there I would or could eat. It was the tastiest cupcake ever. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the place. What a shame.
Dawn- It was so nice visiting with you. I am glad I had some time to sit down and visit.
Well back to work...stay cool.

I am working and looking forward to relaxing tonight afterwards.
I got home Sunday in the later afternoon after deciding to stay in Naperville overnight after visiting with Crystal, Greg, their friends and Lisa. Thanks for having me! After I left, I went in search of a Trader Joe's and as it got dark and misty/rainy, I noticed 3-4 cars driving without lights on. I decided my life and sanity were worth more so I hit up Hotwire. I am glad that I did. I wound up staying at the Hyatt Place (next to a Hyatt House---which I had never heard of either). The room was SO NICE, comfortable and homey. I really enjoyed some quiet time. In the morning, I attended a meeting then went back to the hotel for more quiet time. I took a leisurely drive home and stopped at the Trader Joe's in Algonquin.
Monday I had to do some Treasurer work and see my sponsor after work and yesterday, I was at the Village Board meeting getting my Treasurer stuff done until 9:30 pm. Tomorrow is the 2nd Annual Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS in Rockford (in honor of our friend, Bruce, who passed a few weeks ago), then Friday will start the long weekend. So.....tonight, it is.
I'm really trying to get back on track with my eating. Although the food here is pretty nutritious, I have been indulging in afternoon snack the last couple of days **** cream and a small cupcake). although I don't eat full portions of snack, sugar is a gateway drug for me. Just a little bit and I seem to be ravenously hungry ever after.
That's about it in the northwest corner.

Hello everyone
It might be hot outside but it's like the Arctic in here....BRRR...I am freezing right now. When I go outside for about 5 minutes it feels really good.
My feet and ankles are covered in mosquito bites. No kidding. On one foot I counted 17!!! I sprayed the yard with that Off Yard fogger and I had the citronella candles going and I still got bit up. I was trying to avoid people getting attacked by mosquitos. They seem to love me. I am like candy to them. But any way I had to buy cortisone because my feet were burning they itched so bad. Now it's much better.
We have to return the tent and tables and chairs to Greg's friend tomorrow. He lives...I think in Arlington Heights. It will be an all night thing, because we are going to take him and his wife out to dinner. Our way of saying thank you for letting us borrow everything.
So tonight I will stick close to home and relax.
At work they put in a vending machine. Needless to say I make sure NOT to have and singles or change on me. It's right next to the water cooler and I find myself eye balling at the candy bars.... LOL!!!

We leave for Chicago on the 19th. I'm not sure how long we will be here . I'm seeing a revision dr at Evanston Hospital on October 2nd. I need to have the stoma fixed. I hope they dont make me go thru the hoops. I don't need to loose weight. I need it fixed so food stays in the pouch longer. I'm not getting the nutrition the Addisons needs!!

It is the 1st day of September, and this will be the the hottest week of summer!
The only thing I dislike about September is that is when we get the little sweat bees. They are more bothersome then anything, but our weekend BBQ will be eaten in the house, rather then on the deck.
No plans for today, just a bit more outside stuff. And a menu to plan for Saturday.

It looks like everyone was enjoying the last Sunday of August. I spent the day doing nothing. A perfect late summer day.
Today was housework and getting weeds out of the side garden.More of the same for tomorrow.
Another eye dr. appointment for Wed.
