Hello everyone
I have been busy with audit stuff at work. Keeping up and moving.
Greg has a string of business trips he has to take one after another. He comes back from Buffalo today. I think the next two start the first week of November. He is going to Pittsburgh and San Antonio. So on my own again.
There is one he is taking to California next year. He is going to possibly take me along on that one. And we are going to make it into a mini vacation. See San Francisco again.
I was saying one of these winters we need to get away somewhere warm. I hate winter and would love to have a break from it one these times
Tonight I am making Greg's favorite for his homecoming...meatloaf. Yep...he loves my meatloaf.
Dawn- thank god Olivia has a good head on her shoulders and is getting away from that guy now. Hopefully this guy will realize that she is not the weak person he thought she was. These guys usually go after weak woman...and probably mistook her kindness for weakness.
Well time to get back to work....
Good afternoon, Illinois!
I am good. Working and staying busy. Liking the job for the most part. Can't complain too much. It has been a challenge to remember (or learn) how to deal with other personalities. My boss's personality is sometimes like my father-in-law, but she is nice, not mean. It is still challenging, mostly from being expected to know what she means as opposed to what she says. Oh well, could be MUCH worse.
Crystal, So sorry to hear about Amanda's Grandmother. I will keep her and you all in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad that Gregg's parents have a wonderful fall-back plan. It is sad to lose a home though.
Nancy: Boy, you sure have a lot going on. I hope Rick continues to improve and the identity fraud is as painless as possible. Todd has been hit a couple of times on his debit card and our bank has been great. Did you get to start the new job? How is it?
Lisa: I'll bet you are glad to be back at work. I can't believe how grown up Morgan is!
Carla: Glad you are cleared, did not need surgery and are heading to the sunshine.
The biggest news in my world is Olivia. She is feeling better and getting on with her studies and activities. I have to remind her that she may still be fatigued.
Anyway.........Unfortunately, she was hanging out with a boy (eww....they have cooties... :-)...) that turns out has an anger problem. She has told me periodically that he would get mad about stuff but she didn't tell me until recently HOW mad and how, after he said hurtful things, the next day she would get presents and big apologies. When she told me that, I told her to steer clear since that is a sign of an abuser. Well......being Olivia, she thought that she cold handle it, talked to him and he promised to change, because he agreed, that probably was not safe or healthy" (my words). It came to a head last Monday after she told him that they needed to "take a break". He verbally abused her and both her and I were afraid for her safety. I reported it to a faculty member and the faculty member filed a Title IX complaint. The GOOD news is that she got away before it turned physical and from what I can tell, he is leaving her alone. I am trying to keep closer contact with her and give her support. Amber, Riley and I are planning on going down there over Thanksgiving also. So, I am breathing a sigh of relief that (hopefully) we caught it in time.
Well, I had better get back to work, my lunch is over.
Happy Saturday,
It is kinda blah this morning, but they say it will get better.
Heading to Bloomington for a chili and hot dog birthday party for Annette. My baby is 47.
Carla, glad to see you are heading home. Have a safe trip.
Crystal, sorry about your inlaws. They are nice people.
Have gotten nothing done this morning, need to do a few things before we go,
Hugs,
I have been discharged by the Dr! I dint have to have another scope till March!!!
Im going home to the sun!!!

Hello everyone
Ugh...it's audit season here. That means on top of my normal work I have to pull, copy, label, scan and refile 70 payments. It's a pain in the butt. I hate it. I would rather read...but on the bright side it does keep me busy and makes my day go by really fast. I am 1/4 through the list. I have till Nov 2nd to finish. But I like to get it done ASAP. So I will try to get most of it done today.
Amanda's grandma is touch and go. Although, she is moving around more, she has not woken up yet. They had her on a ventilator to breathe because her oxygen was too low. They finally put in a tracheotomy because you can't have a tube in for too long...and she is still have trouble keeping her oxygen level up. They also said she will not regain use of her left side. She will more than likely lose mobility. So bad news and more bad news. Amanda is beside herself. She is debating on spending the money to come out and visit. I told her to wait a little see if she will pull through. Because maybe she can come out for Christmas and spend that with her. I'm afraid her Christmases might be numbered. I of course would let her know if she had to come before then.
I will be visiting her this weekend.
More bad news. Greg's parents are losing their house. They mortgaged their house to keep their business afloat. Well...that didn't workout. So the bank will be seizing the property. They are trying to get rid of assets right and left. On the bright side they have great property on the Cayman islands that they are going to move to and retire. So they are not destitute...but they are losing a house they owned for 40 years.
So much sadness around me. I feel guilty for being happy some times.
Yes...I wonder where everyone went. Sharon or Chris don't even check in at all anymore.
Lisa- a drone??? Sounds like something Greg would like. More details please
Well time for me to get back to this audit...blah
TGIF,
We have a dinner to go to this evening, and our daughter;s birthday tomorrow. Sunday I will stay home and veg.
Nancy, Identity theft happened to Annette a few years ago, at Jerrod Jewelry up by Shaumburg. They put a ring on the card on Saturday, and Monday they got a call from Master Card asking if they had just charged over a large amount in Dallas, on ski equipment. Plus there was a transaction in progress at that time!
Good Luck on your first day back to work.
Thank goodness that Rick is doing better. I have heard the home in Spring Valley is good.
Crystal, I have a similar problem with Hubert's gifts. I will have them shipped to Monica's, since he gets the mail most of the time. He is getting a drone for Xmas this year, plus something else. Monica bought one for Scott too.
I wish Chris and Sharon would come on. They aren't on Facebook much either.
Dawn and Jason, please check in.
I am off to work. This is one of 3 weeks a year I work 5 days.
Hugs,
Lake County Surgeon's in Gurnee accept Medicaid but only Aetna Better Health & BCBS managed care plans. I have Dr Laurence Gibson as my surgeon. Just completed my 6 month supervised diet with my PCP, Nut, & Exercise therapist now awaiting insurance approval. There are not many facilities that accept Medicaid in Illinois so I had to drive over 2 hours to and from my appointments but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end. ?
Hello everyone
Happy Hump Day!!!
We have been grilling out for dinner. Not many days left to grill. I know some people grill in the middle of Winter but Greg says with a gas grill that's much easier. but he has a charcoal Grill and I guess when it's cold it's hard to get the temp up and to stay up in those....when it's really cold.
Greg has several business trips for work coming up. Well, possibly. They aren't for sure yet. One might be next week to Buffalo, NY. Then possibly San Antonio, TX for a couple of days in November. Then for sure Pittsburgh for sure in November, also. Although, it's a bummer to be in this big house by myself. He gets a bonus for the trips. That will come in handy for Christmas and new tires for my Jeep.
Which by the way Christmas is very different for me this year. I usually have so much of my shopping done by now. I haven't even started. Well first off I can't shop for Greg till after Thanksgiving. We share a bank account and I can't have him seeing where I shop for his presents. But on the bright side so much of my shopping is online now. Even if I wait I won't have to brave the stores and wait in lines.
Nancy- I am so sorry about your identity theft. Can you call the place where you bought the desk and complain. At least let them know they have an issue. I hope you feel better too.
My sinuses are the same and so are my ears. The weird thing is when I tilt my head upside down I can hear pretty well out of my ears. Weird. Very weird.
Well...time to get back. Hopefully this day goes by fast.
Hi Everyone!
Time is flying by for me. I am just as busy not working as I was working. I start back to work on Friday and I still am not ready! Yikes!
I just keep having things happening to me. It is 2 steps forward and 3 to 4 backward. It seems like a never ending nightmare.
Rick is doing better. He was transferred to a nursing home in Spring Valley yesterday. It is about 7 miles west of me. All the ones in our twin city were filled. He is making good progress though! He can now lift his hand on his own about 10 inches off the bed! He also can move his right foot on his own. He has regained feeling on his entire right side. He is speaking better as well. It is amazing progress for only 2 weeks! I hope it continues on this pace! The only downside to all of this is he now thinks he can get up on his own and do things. That is not possible yet! He tried to get out of bed the other day and I ran for the nurses who happened to be right outside the door. Today he asked me to bring his scooter. He thinks he is going to sit on it and ride. While that may be possible he sure cant get on it by himself!
I took Gizmo over to visit him today. That darn cat escaped the room just as I was going to close the door so he could not escape. One of the workers went and caught him and then took him to visit a lot of the residents. So he became a therapy cat! He loved it. Smokey's turn is tomorrow.
Two more bad things that happened to me are that I bought my desk for home on line and my credit card that I used got stolen. So now I am dealing with identity theft. Such fun!
The other thing is I started having pain in my arm just before I took Rick to the emergency room. I thought it was just some knotted muscles in my arm. It has gotten steadily worse. I gave in and went to the urgent care last night and found out that I have a nerve trapped and a bunch of knotted muscles in my neck plus severe arthritis in the neck. I am at the point that I cannot move my arm without severe pain. It keeps waking me up at night and it hurts like he## when I try to dress, or do anything. Doctor gave me pain pills, recommend a series of massages and follow up with my doctor to see if he wants an MRI to see if I have a bed disc in my neck. UGH!
That is my quick update.
Lisa, it doesn't seem possible that Morgan graduates this year. Crystal, I hope they get to the bottom of your sinus issues.
Have a great week everyone!
Cat Lady
Hello everyone
I kind of have a slow day at work today and my boss is out...so I can relax and take it easy.
I had my CAT scan yesterday. The only unpleasant part of the whole thing was having to lay my head completely flat. It was like opening the flood gates for my sinuses. It was lots of pressure and it was uncomfortable. No pain...just discomfort. I guess on the bright side that should show up on the CAT scan...right.
The weird thing is Sunday I bent over to do something and I did have some clear fluid come out of my ear. It was just a drop or two. I thought that was good maybe my ears would drain on their own without the doctor having to drain them. No such luck...I haven't had any more fluid come out of ears since then. Oh well.
Today Greg is going to grill out. We don't have many more nice days like this. Might as well take advantage of them.
Lisa- Will Morgan be going to college? Has she picked one yet? That's such exciting time of their life. I hope she is enjoying herself.
Well...time to go. Have a great day all.
