Hi Everyone,
I was busy this morning, cleaning and such, then I was outside since 11 until a few minutes ago. We were smoking a brisket for tomorrow, and it is smelling fab. I just put it into the refrigerater, and I will slice it in the morning.
I also was able to get a bit of color on this winter skin of mine.
Yesterday went great, Dr is happy with me, we went to dinner with Annette, and got home about 8. I then decorated the cake for tomorrow, so I didn't have to do it today.
Heres hoping everyone had a great Saturday, and a great warm Sunday.
Hugs,
Good day friends!
so far this morning, I've straightedge up, make some sugar cookie dough, but most importantly, I've stayed in my pajamas all day! This is the first time in over a month that I've been home with nothing to do. Last night I took Maddie and a frien to dinner and to go see Heaven is for Real movie. I read the book. It was a good movie, but it was very slow. I think I'm gonna go take a nap, then get up and then when Ryan gets home we are going to get her a new bike. Thursday was her birthday and that's what mom and dad was going to get her, but we want her to test it out first. I think we found a good one at Dicks. Then we are dropping her off at her first "party". I'm very insure about this, so I'm going to talk to the parents when we drop her off. If I'm not comfortable with everything, then I guess mom will just have to stay! I'm sure Maddie won't like that, but who cares!! Tomorrow, we are going over to my sisters house and then celebrate Maddie's birthday with family. We will go to the cemetery also to say a prayer with my dad and leave flowers at my dads marker. Monday I go to Kansas City and then home lass than a week and then go to Miami for a yacht auction. Seriously I'm ready to stay home and get some home improvements done and spend time with Maddie.....that's not happening anytime soon:(
im so excited about Connie and Kay's new adventure. Where is the new shop going to be? I tell ya, knitting and crocheting is the only thing I do in down time while on the road and it really helps me relax!
I better get going....a nap is calling my name! Happy Easter friends!

Hello everyone
I have been doing nothing much this morning. I have a jewelry making party to go to today. Sounds like fun. Its also a potluck. I made my chocolate brownie dip...and you dip cookies and graham crackers and such in it. You can also dip fruit...but someone is bringing a fruit platter so I didn't put any fruit on my platter.
Tomorrow I have no plans. I will be in for the day. The family I have here does a church thing all day on Easter and Amanda is gone....and Chris....although he did finally invite me I bowed out graciously (I am not going to put up with last minute invitations). I don't want to be wondering what I will be doing for any given holiday until a day or two before. So we still have stuff to work out.
I have had a enjoyable weekend so far and the weather is great!!!! I wish I had a garden area I would love to be digging around in my yard.
Well I have to get ready....have a great day all
Good morning,
I imagine most of you are busy cooking, dyeing eggs, and such. Hope you're having fun!
We are going knitting! What a surprise!
Last night we we went to Five Forks for dinner. We split 3 jumbo scallops encrusted with pistachios but the best part was the fiddlehead ferns. If you've never had these, this is the season! They taste a bit like asparagus but milder. Absolutely my favorite vegetable!
Have a great Saturday!

Good afternoon,
I spent the morning with a yarn rep and placed my first order! Also I placed an order with my favorite hand-paint yarn dyer for her handpaints. Yahoo!!
We don't have much scheduled this weekend with no family in the area. Holidays are pretty quiet for us. More knitting--are you surprised? I'm doing a mystery knit and the last clue came out today but we aren't to post a picture til May 2. It's gorgeous, so check FB after May 2.
have a wonderful time with your holiday!

Hello everyone
I have been busy today. Cleaning and I got out my Summer clothes. I went to JC Penney to use a coupon I had. Then I ran over to Target. I got a bath rug and found a really nice space heater on clearance for $15....it was $69!!! I also dropped off the very last of my fat clothes at Goodwill....so if I gain weigh now I will go naked.
What do I have left to do....I have laundry to do. I have a dip to make for a get-together tomorrow. Then I am free for the day.
I bought a new computer yesterday...a laptop!!!
So I think I will find a movie to watch.
Have a good day all
Good Friday Morning.
Hubert and I will be off to Elk Grove Village this morning. I have a visit with Dr. Guskie. We will also visit Cynthia at St. Alexis, find Hubert some leather sandals, and stop at Bass Pro Shop.
Here I hope is the end of the smoker saga. Hubert decided yesterday to clean the smoker, he decided that it was dead and needed to be replaced. Remember, it really hasn't been used that much. So, off to Bass Pro Shop we will go, and buy a new one.
Connie, I know how frustrating opening a new place can be. It will all be worth it in the end.
Dawn, Cynthia's surgery was 6 weeks ago. She still can't keep anything down. Hopefully, this will be the end to her problems.
My friend Cheryl had hers on Wed. I talked to her yesterday, she is weak, but getting stronger. She admitted finally that this isn't a "band aid" surgery. Her words, not mine. They are keeping her until Sat. and because she lives alone and has no one there with her, they want her to go to a nursing home for a week. She won't because she has a cat and doesn't want it to be alone. She really does have some weird ideas about stuff.
Where is everybody?
Hugs,
Good morning Lisa and the rest of Illinois!
Today is my "slow day".....I do not have to go to Rockford for IOP. I am heading into Freeport soon to check on a job (at a flower store....perfect!) and go to a meeting. While at the meeting, I will collect my 60 day coin! I feel accomplished!
I have lots that needs to be done around the house. I plan to make some yeast bread for my family and some Brazilian Cheese Bread for my Mother-in-law to have on Easter. I will do my house stuff while waiting for the dough for the yeast bread to rise.
I am not attending Easter at the in-laws. I will also be home alone, Crystal. I plan to use the time to catch up on reading and "Once Upon a Time" on-demand.
Only Todd is going from my family. David and Liv have to work and Amber and her family are going to her in-law's. As far as I am concerned, if I never have to see my Father-in-law again, it will be too soon. He IS invited to Liv's play and also her graduation and party. If he chooses to attend these events, I will be polite, but will not speak to him more than needed. I am working on releasing my resentments concerning him. My thought is that he is not really a relative of mine and I need not have any more contact than necessary. He is my biggest trigger. Actually, most of Todd's family falls into this category. We went to lunch with one of his sisters and her husband a few weeks ago and I was shocked to realize that every single thing she talked about involved drinking (and lots of it.....). Unfortunately, she tripped and fell as we were leaving the restaurant and broke her arm. Hopefully, it was not because of the pitcher of beer she consumed at lunch.
Lisa....I hope your cousin recovers soon. When did she have her surgery? Sending healing energy her way.
Connie.....I am so excited for you and Kay. We need to get together one of these times I am in town. Let me know what your good times are.
Better get going! Have a lovely day!
Good morning,
For some reason OH has been eating my posts. Poof--gone! So I'll try again. We agreed on the letter of intention yesterday so the lease goes to the lawyers. Apparently the city of Loves Park takes two months to approve plans so now we are thinking August. Bummer. We really wanted to be open by July but it's not likely! We can hope for the best. Anyway, we found some comfortable chairs and the place we bought them offered to store them till we need them for free! Yeah! What we need now is the Ikea white cubby shelving. It seems to be harder to fine than we'd hoped. We really don't want black and we'd prefer not to have to get them now and store them, but we keep checking Craigslist and hope to find some used. It will turn out as it is supposed to!
I hope all of you are enjoying this week. Some of you will be off work tomorrow! Yeah!

Good Morning to All,
I am on a roll this morning. I want to change the bed, and do bunches of other stuff, before 9 or so.
I am heading up to Yorkville this morning, to spend the day with my daughter Annette. It will be a shopping and looking day, and just hang out day.
Tomorrow, back up to the burbs to see Dr. Guskie, then to see my cousin Cynthia, who is back in the hospital on compleate bed rest, since they found 3 blood clots on Tuesday.
So, gotta ,
Hugs,
