I hopefully did just enough that I do not feel like a "week-end warrior) tomorrow. At this point in the economy and our lives we have to live with having a large yard and house up keep (we think to ourselves what we were thinking 35 years ago when we bought it when we were younger). We do things in small chunks most of the time lately.

Hello Everyone

Things are back to normal here. Rick got out of the hospital mid week.  It is good to have him home.  We have had an enjoyable weekend getting things done around the house and relaxing  We just got back from grocery shopping and he is putting everything away  I love all that he does  He is a perfect househusband!

I have really enjoyed the nice weather  It is cool and rainy today and looks like we have a cooler week.  This is indeed spring weather.  I dont think we have had a spring in a long time.  It is nice to have one.  I hate instant summer

We got a new (gently used) riding mower about a week ago.  Rick is changing the oil and then it is good to go.  We need to use it soon  So far I have a wonderful lawn of dandelions.

The cats are enjoying the catio and the nicer weather.  We dont see much of them as they are spending lots of time outside.  The only problem is the one who likes to dig for worms and bring them inside!    We think it is Fluffer.  Bad Kitty!

Crystal,  It is good to see you move forward and take a positive attitude about it.  Making a decision was not easy but I think you have made one that is right for you.  You luau sounds like it was a lot of fun and the derby party sounds great!  Staying busy is a good idea!

Chris, it sounds like you have a lot on your plate as well.  Where are you and Dave cruising off to?  That will be fun I am sure

Lisa, your cruise is coming up so fast!  I hope you and Hubert have lots of fun!  I have never been on a cruise but I can only imagine how much fun they are.  I also imagine if Hubert is like any other typical man there will be last minute errands to run  Good luck with that.  I am glad you had fun in St Louis  It is always fun to catch up with friends

Connie, I am so excited that you and Kay found a home for your shop!  It sounds ideal!  A fireplace sounds delightful!  That will be so cozy in the winter time to be able to knit by the fire.  What fun   It sounds like the shop was just made for you and was meant to be!  I am so excited for the both of you!  Good luck in your new venture!  I am sure you will be a huge success!

Dawn, you have exciting times coming up with Liv graduating!  Enjoy this time with your baby!

Everyone have a great week!

Crystal, I don't get on here much but saw that you miss gardening and eat organic, do you know about the community garden that the college has , it's on Plainfield Rd just east of 5 corners on the left hand as you head toward town, there is also a large community garden on Mc Donough St by the back of the golf course, we pass it a lot in the summer and it is very active. We don't garden because we go to Ky lake all summer, but you can check it out by searching community garden in Joliet, it's the park district.  Norma

Good morning!

We made a deal yesterday on the store. Just by happenstance we went into a quilt shop that is going out of business, looking for fixtures, and ended up renting that space, including buying her shelves, some tables and a lot of other stuff ( which won't have to be moved OR stored). We will be able to open in July or earlier instead of late September! And the site was once a coffee shop so it has a fireplace! Perfect to knit by in the winter! OMG! We are so excited! It is such a cute site and has lots of personality! Definitely a Higher Power event!

I hope each of you has a good weekend!

Connie

Hello everyone

In spite of myself I ended up having lots of fun yesterday and the food was surprisingly good.  Everyone at our table loved their food and they are generous helpings.  I could only finish 1/2 of my food.....so I have dinner tonight.  The show was great and entertaining...and funny (I wasn't expecting that)....I laughed so much.  Lisa I recommend the show.  Not bad for the money.  With the show and a pina colada and 1/2 a dessert...I paid about $40.

I was invited to a derby part next week.  It sounds super fun.  You wear a big floppy derby hat...eat southern food...bet on the races....and visit with friends.  I already ordered my hat....I can't wait to get it and show you guys.  It's a big floppy coral hat with two big flowers on it!!!

Yep I am not going to sit around and feel sorry for myself.  I am going to have some fun.  These are things I wouldn't have done because I would have been busy.

I was also invited to go to Swedish Days....it's not till the end of June but that sounded like fun too.

Today however is not about fun.  I have some work to do around here and then later today I have a wake to go to.  That's it for me.

Christine-  believe it or not I miss yard work.  I hate living in an apartment.  The only time it's nice....I never have to shovel snow....hahahaha!!!!!

Well have a super Sunday all....see ya.

Good Morning Christine and all of Illinois,

33 miles an hour wind with gust at 39, this is more like the end of March, then the end of April. We did get the garden in yesterday, I am happy we did, since I really wouldn't of wanted to do it today.

We leave on our cruise on Friday. I am as ready as I can be. Everyday I sak Hubert if he is in need of anything. His answer is always no. We will see.

I am making quinoa burgers right now. I will use them for lunches this week.  Chicken for later.

Have a great Sunday,

Hugs.

Lisa

One more day of the week-end, YEAH! Off to Ace, Hallmark and Portillo's shortly. Received a gift card for Admin Assistant Day on Wedn and it is burning a hole in my pocket. Been so busy with work, training, service at church, home and putting together plans for shore excursions for our cruise in the middle of June. Hardly have time for myself.

Need to get out and P/U  the fall scourge (leaves) in an area by the 3 season room/garage area. This area always traps the leaves no matter how many times we rake. It is the neighbors leaves that end up there from the wind.

I  put out 2 of my hummer feeders last week. The little birds are on their way north according to the migration map. We are looking forward to being entertained by them and to use our new cameras to take pictures of them. Speaking of cameras my new purchase has been outstanding and they are easy to use.

Hello everyone

Today I have my dinner theater outting with friends!!!!  I am excited...it looks like fun.  In the meantime I am have cleaning and deciding a few things.  I have decided to give my bedroom a make over... I got the idea yesterday when I was at JC Penney.  I past through the bedding section and saw a comforter set I really liked and thought...why not???  So Next month that will be my small little project.  I am going to redecorate my bedroom....this excites me too.

I was also thinking of taking a weekend road trip to Champaign.  They have awesome thrift shops and used book stores and a great farmers market.  I also miss the Co-op there.  And there is an outlet mall about 30 miles south of there.  I think it would be a great way to spend a day.  I just wish I can convince someone to come with me.

I have been having trouble sleeping this week.  Rather than turn to medicine.  I decided to try essential oils.  I have read many times how certain essential oils can soothe you (or invigorate you).  So I took my candle wax warmer....and some plain wax....and a few drops of jasmine.  I have to say I did sleep better.

Lisa-  you know I have never been to St Louis.  You make it sound interesting.

Connie- I really wish we were closer.  I soooo want to learn to knit.  I would make your shop one of my first stops....road trip!!!

Have a wonderful Saturday all
