Happy Teal Tuesday!
It is Teal Tuesday for Liv's school colors and it is a, "thing" at her school. I have on my teal and the sweatshirt she gave me for Christmas from her school.
Things in this corner are about the same. The new thing is that I went to a new chiropractor yesterday (long overdue) and according to his measurment, I lost another inch in height! Bummer as that will up the BMI.
I am trying to get back on track, but I am having the same issue as before surgery.......It seems that once I put solid food in my mouth, I just want to keep eating. My pouch still works, and I can't eat much at a sitting, but once I eat, I crave to eat more all day. I think it might be a carb issue, but I have been trying really hard not to allow carbs. I'm guessing that I will need to buckle down and go back to the beginning. Full liquid for a detox. UGH!!!!!
Once I do that and get my back straightened out, I should be able to exercise also and have 2016 be my year to get back to my post surgery body.
That's it for me!
YES!!!! LURKERS COME OUT TO PLAY!
Hello eveyone
I had a busy day. Now I am relaxing. We went to church. We also stopped by Greg's parent's house. His dad is having some issues stemming from the whole hematoma. Because of the brain surgery he was put on pain medicine. He is now abusing the the pain meds. He is in bad shape. We have taken the pain meds away and asked and received non-narcotic pain meds. He is beside himself in anger. I feel bad for both of them. On top of all of this they are losing their house at the end of this month.
If you or anyone is interested there will be an estate sale at some point. I just don't have the details right now. Maybe if you guys come for the estate sale we can meet for lunch afterwards.
On to 2016...2015 was a great year...for me.
Have a good evening all
Good Morning,
So how is everyone the 1st Sunday of January?
To everyone who is viewing this but not commenting. Please do. We need you. As you can see, our regulars are slowly falling away and we need some new blood to keep us going. I try to comment as often as possible, but my life is busy too.
Hubert is getting the last of the decorations picked up from the outside. Since we will be gone this coming weekend, we won't be able to do it then.
I am working most of the week. I am hoping we are busy. Last week was very slow.
Hugs,
Good Morning,
We all lived through the holidays, so now it is time to step back and get into the groove again.
We are looking forward to next weekend. Our 50th anniversary. We will be celebrating in Southern Illinois, with friends and family. It looks like the good weather (no snow) will continue.
I am planning on getting my hair colored today, and cleaning the bedroom.
We had a nice New Years. We went for dinner on NYE, then Monica, Scott and Morgan spent the day yesterday, with a taco party. Easy entertaining. We also finished our plans for next weekend, and finalized the excurions for our cruise.
Have a nice but cold weekend
Hugs
Good morning Lisa and the rest of Illinois!
I haven't visited in a while, it seems.
Liv is home and I am happy to see her. David is even being tolerable with her around, which is unusual. Our Christmas was good and happy.
I had no trouble getting home Monday, just went really slowly. Yesterday though, I slid off of the driveway and got stuck in the mud, my front tire just off the cement, digging a 5 inch deep hole trying to get out. In the afternoon, my neighbor came and pulled me out with his truck. I guess it was God's way of telling me to stay home with my granddaughter and kids.
I'm back to work today. Tomorrow, I work and Liv is working the day at Camp. Todd took the day off, I don't know what his plans are for the day. I would love to get my tree down, but Olivia is enjoying it and we compromised and she will take it down Monday, before she heads back to school on Tuesday.
We have no plans for New Year's Eve. I might make a nice dinner. As much as I've been sleeping lately, I might miss the whole thing.
That's about it from the northwest corner.....
I know I am late chiming in, but maybe I can still help a bit.
I think you did well. You could have ordered a hot decaf and added Splenda and been fine also. If you like vanilla flavor, ask them to put a shot of the SUGAR FREE vanilla syrup in the decaf. They will be happy to do that. Iced tea, unsweetened is also fine. The only other thing "safe" at McDonald's might be the scrambled eggs. I don't know if they would make you just an egg, but in a pinch, I've ordered a breakfast burrito and just eaten the inside, or a McMuffin and thrown away the muffin. I used to order a Big Breakfast, and share with my son. I ate a bit of the eggs and he got the rest.
I don't know about the iced latte, but a hot latte has 15g of carbs and I would guess that an iced one will have more. Still high on my plan. I also would not eat the fruit and yogurt parfait at Mickey D's as it has 30g of carbs, many of those sugar. That is more than I can handle and at one month out, you should definitely not try it.
Unfortunately, Micky D's is just not a great choice.
As for your family and friends, they will adjust eventually. This is new to them also. Just fill that silence with lively conversation to change the subject.
Happy New Year and New YOU!
Hello everyone
I have almost all of my Christmas decorations down and put away. The only thing that is delaying me is the fact I need a couple more Rubbermaid containers to put the new decorations in. So things are sitting on the basement floor waiting for a home.
I unfortunately have to work tomorrow. But it usually is a short day. Then Greg and I are going out to eat for New Years Eve. I am going to dress up in my new outfit.
All snacks and cookies have already been dealt with. I have Greg bring them to his office. I want them out of my sight...ASAP. That way I am not tempted.
I will say driving in the snow with a 4X4 Jeep is a lot easier than in my little Corolla. But I am still careful. Comes from years and years of driving little cars in the snow. I can't just go crazy. And my heated seats are the best thing ever!!!
Well back to work. Have a good day...stay warm and drive safe
Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Happy Mid week,
Almost all of Christmas is put away, and eager to get on with the new year. We have just a few things t o put into the basement, and a few goodies to finish. Leftover cookies will be made into cookie balls, same as cake balls, but made of leftover chocolat and white cookies. And what is left will go home with Monica on Friday. Dips, crackers and such will be put out News year Day, and what is left after that, will be sent to the snack dump (garbage disposer).
I work tomorrow, off Thursday and Friday, anew work year starts Monday.
What is everyone else up to?
Hugs,
Hello
Greg liked his gifts too. I got what I really wanted....a Kate Spade purse. It's so pretty. I am using it but I think I am going to put it away and only use it for nice things. I would hate to ruin it. I also got a wonderful sweater and boots and jewelry box. Greg spoils me so.
Christmas is over. I am sad and glad at the same time. I am happy that I can take a break and relax but sad that the fun is over. I already started taking my decorations down. Greg took down the outside stuff already...he is on top of it.
Christmas Even I developed a abscess on my tooth. I kept on baking to keep my mind off the pain. But as the day went on it got worse. By the time it was bedtime I was in some pain and the abscess was the size of a marble. I took some Tylenol Nighttime and managed to fall asleep. When I woke up I was surprised it was 5am and that I slept all night. Then I noticed the pain was gone. During the night the abscess had ruptured...releasing all the pressure. I was in hardly no pain. Thank god. I was able to enjoy my Christmas and even eat some roast and potatoes. It was a good Christmas.
The next day I went to the dentist. I need a root canal.
Well stay warm and drive safe. See Ya
Happy Monday,
This is really going to be a great day to start the week, NOT!
Mother nature is back to her old tricks. We are getting rain right now and who knows what will follow.
Just be careful today.
Well I am batting zero in the Hubby gifting. Last year I bought him a new wedding band, and had to return it, this year, the trench coat fit him, but the sleeves were way to short, I did get him a drown, which he liked.
Off to work, have a great day.
