Happy for you to go on a vaca. Oh, my gosh. Did you see how far north you are going in MI? You might as well go to Mackinaw while you are there. Even if you just go on the ferry across to the island. It is really neat. We spent our 25th anniversary at The Grand Hotel.

Lisa, I can retire right now but I do not want to give up my life style. Out of my pension I would have to pay for my monthly medical insurance (not Cobra). I am entitled to buy my insurance from the village after age 55 for as long as I need it. I also like being paid for 5 weeks vaca a year. We just need to decide if I should take my social security at 62 at a penalty.

Mandy,
I am very curious to know how you are doing now, and what steps you were able to take. I am 30 and have degenerative disc and joint disease, currently have 7 ruptured discs in my cervical and lumbar spine and have had two surgeries. I am in the appeal process for disability and have a very wonderful lawyer. I am up to 220 pounds, the heaviest I have ever been. I was able to maintain weight when I was able to be more active but over the last year I am barely able to walk and continue gaining weight which is only adding to the pain.
I would greatly appreciate any help or advise you could offer. It is rare I meet anyone my age with similar health issues and concerns.
Hello everyone
Sneaking on just to say hi.
I don't have any bog plans today. Work, Walgreens, bike riding, home. My day in a nut shell.
I am excited because I found some affordable boots in my size online....that I like. You won't believe this but this will be my first pair of boots as an adult. Nope I haven't had boots since I was a kid. I never find ones I like in my size. I also would like to get some hiking boots since we will be doing more camping.
Oh and I am excited because I am taking my first real vacation next month. I will be going to Charlavoix MI...if I'm splelling that correctly. It supposed to be vary beautiful in the Fall. And there is an Apple Fest...fun.
Well I got to go....have a good day all
that is the reason that I am still working. I like our vacations.
We are heading for my 50th high school reunion in Collinsville, Il this weekend.I have plans for this evening, right until . i am really looking forward to it.until it ends, sunay at noon.
Hugs
Not much going today. Just going to sip and walk and cross-stitch. That's about it for me. We're having family from Kansas staying with us this weekend, so the house will be full of activity.
I hope everyone has a good day!!!
Back to work - work anniversary celebration is over. We are starting to toss around ideas for when I will retire but not for at least two years because I like my paycheck as it pays for the cruises to Alaska.
What is happening in your corner of Lincoln Land?

Hello everyone. I had my one week post-op check up today. It went great. I will go back to work on the 29th and work from home for about 2 weeks. I think my boss is thrilled I will be back at quarter-end. I'm now off puree and on to soft foods....yippie!!! I have become a big fan of eggface....if you don't know who she is, please let me know. I ordered an ice cream maker from Amazon and it came today. I'm looking forward to trying some of her recipes for protein ice cream. Also from Amazon I got a bottle of P2 peanut butter powder and P2 chocolate peanut butter powder. I'm looking forward to trying them out in different shakes and ice creams.
I hope everyone had a great day!!
Thanks again for all the thoughts and well-wishes. I told 2 people at the doc's office today about OH, I hope they join.
Good late afternoon Christine and the rest of Illinois!
My computer has been acting up so I haven't been on lately. things with me are going well. Monday, I celebrated 7 months of sobriety. I am finishing up my 4th step and was supposed to do the 5th this afternoon, but an emergency came up and my sponsor had to reschedule. It will get done. I share the sobriety issue as a warning to the newbies......be VERY RESPECTFUL of alcohol and the new way that it can affect us.
I saw my therapist today and we hit another traumatic thing. So....all in all, I am doing well. I spent last weekend with Riley and Sunday Amber joined us. I miss hanging out with them. Liv is doing fantastic! She is really living the dream, as they say. Oh, what I wouldn't give to be in her shoes!
I'm not sure if I told you, but David is back in the house. This causes a bit of stress, but I think I have it under control. He will be given options and I need to show him what respecting me looks like. Then, if he chooses not to follow my suggestions, he will have to find other arrangements. I really don't want it to come to that, but.......
I am glad to see that Lisa (snoopygirl) is recovering well from surgery. I wonder how Jessica is? The rest of you seem to be enjoying the change in weather and lives that move on each day.
Gotta get dinner going.....
Everyone have a fantastic evening!
