AAAWWWW, one more day of the week-end! The baby shower yesterday was a lot of fun. We are off shortly for Bfast and then to enjoy the out of doors at Cantigny. There is a Civil War Reenactment today. Should be a lot of fun. At least the wind has died down a little and the sun is to be out. That should help make it feel warmer.

I have a wake to go to this morning. We danced with him and his wife for years, she died 6 years ago, and he has joined her. After that, Hubert and I are going to Joliet to do some shopping. I need to go to Sams, Bed Bath and Beyond, and to Hobby Lobby. Plus I just cleaned the kitchen and put a load of laundry in the dryer.
We have our heat on. It is to cold in here if we don't. I agree, it is early. Snow north of O'Hare. It can stay there.
Lisa, don't let your co-workers disturb you. If you have the next week off, take it. I happedned to be off when I had mine, but I would of taken 3 weeks. At least, that was the plan.
Hugs,
Aaaaaahhhhh the week-end! I was born on a Saturday so I guess that is why I live for the week-ends.
Man, it is still breezy out there. I refuse to turn the heat on this early so I just put on more layers of clothing.
Off to Woodstock for a shower. Before that I have a couple of boxes to ready for the resale shop.

3 weeks. You probably would not injure any of the surgery area on the inside but a bump might smart.

A bit frustrated at the moment. My boss told me that two of my co-workers are *****ing because I'm working from home. And since I can drive, why can't I come to the office? I told her to tell them that if they want to pay for my parking next week, I'd be happy to drive in every day. The thought of taking the Metra and possibly getting my tummy bumped into just scares me. I'm scheduled to work from home next week, and then I'll be back in the office on the 14th. How long were ya'll off from work when you had your surgery?
finishing lunch, and headed back to work. We are busy today, and thankfully no crying kids. Wednesday was bad with them.
it will be a quiet weekend. No plans.
hugs,
'Tis a good day to sleep. This rain is much needed but not when we want to go to the Civil War Reenactment at Cantigny on Sunday. It will be a muddy mess out there. The rain also helps the new grass seed that was put down where the village took out an Ash tree.
At work and my brain is going a mile a minute. It is ongoing training for month end stats with the new girl. She did them last month and did well but practice makes perfect.

Hi friends!
I took the afternoon off today and came home and took a nap! What a treat! We've been really busy but today was less scheduled with classes and meetings. Tomorrow some friends from Chicago are coming for lunch. We met them in ***** Cana and we haven't been able to get together sooner. Really looking forward to seeing them!
We are planning the late fall schedule for the store. That takes more work than we imagined!
I hope you all her healthy and happy!

Good afternoon Chris and the rest of Illinois!
I am getting ready to go down and find some dinner. Yesterday, I made a potato soup in the crock pot that turned out pretty well. It started with that "Easy Crock Pot Potato Soup" recipe that is viral on Facebook, but I could not find the frozen potatoes, and since I had to dice my own potatoes, I embellished from there. I used a small bag of yellow/gold potatoes, and chicken stock and about 1/3 lb. of chopped bacon. I added some chopped celery, carrots and onion that I had in the freezer from my last soup making. I added the can of cream of chicken soup that the original recipe called for. Simmered on low about 6 hours. Added the cubes of cream cheese (low fat) at the end and found that they did not melt and thicken the broth as easily as stated. I also added about 1/4 cup of half and half. The boys said it was good.
I made salmon patties to go with the soup along with a loaf of frozen bread dough that I found in the freezer. My dinner was salmon patties and apple slices. Yummy! I also started some cookie dough since yesterday was "National Home Made Cookie Day". They were supposed to chill overnight, so I will bake them tonight. The family will test them out and if the recipe is good, I will send it to Liv. We made a recipe for her graduation party that went over fantastically, but the cookies crumble too easily. Hence, looking for a tweaked recipe.
Not a lot exciting here in the northwest corner of the state. I am just waiting for this big storm that is supposed to be here, cancelling flights in Chicago. Amber is traveling for work and is supposed to be back tomorrow, but if flights are cancelled, she may be delayed.
Liv is doing well, in her 6th week of college. She is so busy getting her work done that I need to make a date with her for a phone call.
Everyone have a splendid day!
