Good Morning,
Yesterday, I was a couch potato all day. I watched Hallmark from noon to nine, then turned off the tv. Today, I want to get down in the basement and start to get rid of 40 years of junk.
Oven fried chicken tenders for dinner. Not sure what else.
We are still getting some flakes, the sky is gray, but not dark.
Hugs,
Good morning!
We continue to be busy at the store which is amazing! I have lots of paperwork to do this week for end of year so I don't mind the weather. In fact when I woke up my first thought was "now it looks like Christmas!" I had to take a photo out the front door it was so pretty!
Yesterday we had a class in two color knitting. I made the first half of a mitten and I just love it! I don't want to wait til next week to get the rest of the pattern!
Stay safe and healthy dear friends!
Connie

Hi Peeps,
I know they say we have had a mild winter so far, but I am not ready for the cold they say is coming..............but then again who is?
I am going to church this morning with my Hubby and then I have my step study at noon. Since no Bears or Green Bay today, I guess no football for me.
I bought a pork shoulder and I am going to bake that Puerto Rican style and have rice with pigeon peas and fried plantains. I have been feening for that food for some time. Dawn, do you make your own sofrito? I made a batch yesterday and wonder how long it keeps in the fridge? Maybe I should freeze in ice cube trays and then move to freezer bag? I'll have to google that today.
That's my day.
Stay warm, stay safe.
Hugs,
Sharon
Happy Anniversary Lisa!
i was up and out early. I went for my swim and then to Walmart to pick up a few things. The stores were empty due to the weather. I also went to Good Will. I haven't been in one in so long. I found a few nice things.
It was a good day for napping and noshing.
Bulls won!
Hugs,
Sharon
Hello everyone
I am staying in today. It is super yucky out and I don't feel like going out. Blah.
Tomorrow I am staying in and making a nice big Sunday dinner. I am making pot roast, homemade au gratin potatoes and flourless chocolate cake (made with truvia instead of sugar). Yep....yumminess.
Lisa- Happy Anniversary!!!
Well back to my lazy afternoon...see ya later
Good Morning to you.
My entire plan for today is to make cabbage soup. No plans at all! That is unusual for me. I don't intend to leave the house today. I do have some bookwork to finish, but that is no problem.
Sharon, I know what you mean about Fridays. Wednesday is my "Friday", and even if I do have 4 weekend days, it goes by to fast.
Our kids are giving us an anniversary party/open house next Saturday from 3 to 6 at our house. Everyone is invited. It will be our 49th. We requested no gifts.
If you go out today, be careful. the weather is nasty.
Hugs,
Hi Peeps,
It's almost dinner time so I figured I'd better jump on and say hi.
Last night we were home by 7p. The holidays are finally over and I must say I am bushed. This weekend is hopefully alot of nothing. G is on call, so we wont be going far.
Dawn, so proud of you. It sounds like you are working the program. What a giant leap you made last night. Love it!!!!!!!!!
I went swimming early and then went to my church and cleaned the sanctuary. By the time I got home at 9a, I was tired and hungry. Need to get some yogurt in here, so I munch on healthier stuff.
Carla, how are you feeling since being home?
Well, dear ones, have a lovely weekend eve. Love Friday nights. Even tho i dont work fulltime, Fridays still represent happiness......
Hugs,
Sharon
Happy New Year Lisa and the rest of Illinois!
Yes, I am loving having Liv home, and she will be gone all too soon. She goes back on the 10th.
I am SO happy for Crystal!!!!!! You deserve all the good things in life!
These last couple of days have been a little rough for me. I went to the doctor on the 30th and she mis-read my thyroid lab. She kept telling me how it was abnormally high and that I should re-take it in 6-8 weeks. She thought it was odd that I have been gaining weight with a high thyroid. Also, my liver function tests are a lot higher than they ever were (even when drinking) so she wants me to see a GI doctor for more investigation. THEN.....my prescription got sent to Wal-Mart instead of Walgreens.
So----I get home and see that not only is my thyroid abnormally LOW, it has always been right on the low line. THIS would make for the weight gain and the seemingly impossibility to lose weight. I will follow up on this.
The liver function had me upset. My diseased brain immediately thought, "Why stop drinking if my liver is shot?" Which is the stupidest thought EVER. My liver was/is nowhere NEAR my list of reasons for quitting. But very funny how the mind works. I already have the appointment for this follow up.
Then, of course, Todd has been on vacation, and doing nothing helpful around here. He HAS had time to go out with his friends a couple times for day and night long visits to bars and breweries. Usually, this would not bother me, but as I said....rough couple of days.
For New Year's, the party was at our backyard neighbor's. I went for a short time, but drinking was such a focus that I left and went to the Alano Club to be with others who were not drinking. When I came back for my midnight kiss, everyone was is "fine" shape. This made me realize how I used to look. I came home and Liv and I were in bed by 1.
Today, I went to a couple of meetings and spoke with my sponsor last night and am much closer to being spiritually fit. Tomorrow is a new day!
I am not sure what is on the schedule for tomorrow. Maybe I'll get the tree taken down and put away.
Everyone have a spectacular New Year!
Happy New Year's.......we never said day when I was a kid......just, "Happy New Years"
We had a quiet evening alone. G is on call til Monday so we just napped all evening until about 11 and then we went to bed. He got called a couple times and finally moved downstairs so I could sleep uninterrupted. Lazy morn watching the parade and reading my bible.
Today we go to my brothers house. He and his wife are hosting us and our grandbabies. It will be a quiet nice low key day.
Gods blessing on you and your loved ones in 2015!
hugs,
Sharon
Good Morning on this 1st day of 2015.
I was good last night. I never even had a sip of anything stronger then iced tea. In my younger days, I would be drinking something that was 100 proof, but that, as well as soda left my goodie list a long time ago. I don't think it was a planned thing, It was, overtime, I stopped drinking soda and that became the new norm. My sister is the same way.
BTW, I had grilled shrimp with a sweet potatoe, and Hubert had a fillet last night. It was good,
When I got home from work yesterday, Hubert had the tree and village down, and everything put away.
No plans for today, I may go shopping a bit, so I don't have to go Saturday. And, working on our business books to get it done and start the new year with a clean slate.
Have a great day,
Hugs
