Good Morning all you Snow Bunnies,
I do not have to leave my house this morning! I am so glad for that. We are going out tonight for our anniversary, but we are staying in town.
Dawn, my fingers are crossed for you to get the job you want.
Sharon, I need to get back to the basics too. I am eating way to much junk, so today, I can hopefully get rid of all the triggers. also, I need to find my mp3 player so when I start exercising again, I got my music. If I can't find it, I will break down and buy a new one. Or, maybe just a C.D. player.
Crystal, are you and Gregg staying nice and cozy together?
Chris, I hope you aren't walking to work on these frigid days.
Nancy, How are you doing?
Hugs,
Crystal,
Ive been driving mostly. Cause then I have the use of my car. But when I fly I sometimes use Travel Zoo. They have good prices. Or check Southwest. I usually fly Sputhwest to Chicago. I know they r having a so called sale now. Also go to cheapoair.
Also look after midnight for flights sometimes that helps!!!!

Good evening Sharon and the rest of Illinois!
I had to drive into Rockford today for my therapy session. I was hoping she would call it off, but my car was nice and warm, so no problem.
Liv sent me a text that she was so excited that her wet suit arrived. She bought it with money from Christmas. She was so excited, she wore it for a couple of hours! Silly girl. She is looking forward to going back to South Carolina where the weather is not quite so brutal. I keep reminding her that we have been very fortunate so far and that this too shall pass. It actually looks like she will be taking the cold back with her.
Sharon, I looked up Sofrito. I had never heard of it, let alone made it. The information I saw suggested that you freeze it in ice trays then put the "cubes" into a zippered freezer bag. Sounds delish!
I came home and started some laundry. Todd came home and said that the dryer sounded funny. The belt broke! So......-7 degrees and I have to schlep wet laundry 13 miles down the road to the Laundromat to dry. Hopefully, we can get a new belt tomorrow.
I have heard o the Mediterranian Diet and it sounds logical. Let me know how it goes.
I did not hear from the job today, I will call them tomorrow.
Everyone have a warm night!
I have been taught that whatever you put ahead of your recovery, you will ultimately lose. Also to guard your recovery from harm as you would an infant. Good luck, much love is being sent to you!
Hi Ice Bunnies, Hi Carla!
I dont know if its the weather with the low temps or my computer, but all the electronics are sloooooooooooooow. Facebook is slow on my IPAD, Pinterest is slow on my IPHONE, OH is slow on my desk top.
I have been busy (hahahaha) reading all morning. Havent even gotten dressed....pathetic but divine. Nobody here but me and the cats......I am going to pop a chicken in the oven and head upstairs to shower. I started my car this morning, went to the gym and then was home by 8am.
Has anyone tried the Mediterranian Diet? I just cannot lose on hi protein anymore. My body revolts by going rogue and not letting me poop which is followed by a painful behind. Sorry for the TMI. I cant live like that anymore.
I read a book this am about the diet and seems too good to be true. Fruit, veggies, bread.........ok no butter, red meat or cream, but hey its a trade off, I guess. my VSG still works, Im exercising...I should be thinner. I have been stuck at my weight for a year now and I need to dump this last 60 lbs. Any suggestions????
My Celebrate Recovery meeting has been cancelled for tonight because the school is closed due to the cold. We meet in the high school in Bolingbrook. I guess I will be watching my Bulls tonight. Love them Bulls.
Ok my dear ones, Im off to look like I did something today so my husband thinks I am still super woman.
Hugs,
Sharon
Dawn, in a nutshell:
I interviewed for a position to do billing for a single physician who's a vascular surgeon. At the interview I learned his entire family works for him and they dont know how to bill or use the electronic medical record system they just bought. They want me to come in and train everyone and manage the billing deaprtment. I thought it would be a small billing position but it turns out it is a big job with lots of stress and hours...........pocketbook says yes, my recovery says no.
Good afternoon Sharon and the rest of Illinois!
I have not heard about the last interview and will call her tomorrow if she does not call me. I will also make sure she understands that if they chose someone else this time, I would like to be considered for any future openings. If this does not work out, I am thinking of signing up for temp work. I must have missed which job you are talking about. Fill me in, please.
I am feeling more centered and spiritually fit and grateful for both. I have a big book study tonight and a meeting with my sponsor. There will be cake there for the celebration of 30 years for a great guy. Not that I eat cake, but 30 years is amazing! He is a great role model---always a kind word and willing to help.
Liv heads back on Saturday. Her flight does not leave until 4 pm so we don't have to get up so early. I am trying to plan a trip to visit her for her Spring Break in March with my Christmas gift from my in-laws. I will miss having her around, but I am very proud of the beautiful, strong and smart young woman she is becoming.
Happy Anniversary Lisa and Hubert!
That's about it for me. Everyone stay warm!
Carla-
I will be seeing my daughter in Washington state in April. I heard the best time to buy tickets is in February. Do you find this to be true? DO you have any tips to get good deals. You seem to be traveling all of the time. I figure you would be the person to ask.
Hi I'm chillin. Carl went for a colonoscopy yesterday. First one ever. He's ok.
I'm missing my Vinnie so I booked a flight for February 13th. To the 17th. They were having a sale of sorts.
It's about 70 here. Cold for my standards.
I'm just getting over a migraine so feeling sluggish.
My day is dragging..

Hi & good morning everyone,
As in that movie Groundhog Day, someone says: "Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooold out there today.". I like that movie. Keep & stay warm everyone. I hope everyone is doing okay. Keeping busy is good, but at times oneself needs to slow down and take time to smell the roses so you wouldn't burn yourself out.
I'm doing better today Sharon your prayer helped me last night. Thank you. I'm hanging in there one way or another.
Soon I'll get a cup of java (Starbucks Frappuccino {cold coffee kind}). I had a Dannon Light & Fit Greek Caramel Macchiato yogurt for breakfast even some Cream of Wheat with milk and blueberries. Yesterday I went to Starbucks to get a Starbucks Tuxedo Hot Chocolate and boy it's good, it's a mix of hot white chocolate & hot chocolate. They even have hot white chocolate too.
Have a great day everyone.
