Hi folks!
YEs, my ex died last Friday as we were in Panama waiting to go through the canal. He had been sick several years with cancer which was common in his family, so we knew it was coming. I also knew I wouldn't be welcome at the funeral so we continued our trip. But I have a fair amount of sadness for the kids and the rest of their families. It's a great loss for my kids as they were really close to him.
We enjoyed Panama and Costa Rica but it was exceedingly hot there as well as humid. We got to spend a lot of time with friends which was great. And we got home before they closed O'Hare!
I hope all of you are doing well. Stay safe and warm today!

Good Morning, It started snowing about 9 last night. I woke up at 2 and looked out. It wasn't coming down hard, but steady. I think we have about 3 inches so far. Unless there is a real er, I am staying in today.
I folded 2 loads of laundry from yesterday, and I want to clean out the pantry this morning. That is it for housework today. I want to make a pie for dinner today. Not sure on that.
Mushroom bread for a superbowl snack. Cresant rolls rolled out in a sheet, pinch edges together, top with any type of cheese you want, sliced fresh mushrooms, dipped in butter, placed on top. Bake until browned. yummy.
I will see if I go to work tomorrow.
Stay in if you can today.
Hugs,
Hello Dear Ones,
Well, the snow must have come last night after i fell asleep. We got at least 5-6 inches but right now there is none falling. Just heard there is a snow storm on its way and there is a warning until 2p. I wish they would cancel church so I could stay in my pajamas all day, but that has never happened. G and I are the greeters, so we have to be there. It will be sparse tho. People dont need much of an excuse on a Sunday to stay warm and close to their homes. But they may cancel the step study afterwards.
I think we may be in for the Super Bowl, so i guess, I need to think of snacks for those commercials like you said Lisa, its the best part.
Please everyone, stay warm and safe.
Enjoy this day the Lord has made....
Hugs,
Sharon
ps...just found out we are not greeting in FEB....yay!!!!!!! staying in the warm house
I just forgot to get on here this morning.
So much for an excuse, Good Afternoon Sharon and everyone .
Sharon, I am the same way with the last 60 lbs too. It will come off, just give it time.
I put beans in my chili, but I would rather not. So, I use 1 can of beans to 2 lbs of hamburger meat. That satisfies me, and Hubert both.
I finally got my sock drawer cleaned out. It was getting so I couldn't find a pair. Now, if there wasn't a match, it is gone.
They are saying up to 1 foot of snow for us. I agree, I am in the house for the weekend. Come Monday, I will decide if I am going in to work or not. I guess it will depend if I can get to the main road. Lots of times, the plow goes up our street and our driveway will need to be reblown. Hubert parks on the street, but he will be gone before they would plow it.
Leftovers tonight. A roast for tomorrow, and snacks for during the Superbowl. Ya know, we have to watch the commercials, its the best part.
Hugs,
Hi Peeps,
Yippy it's Saturday. No snow yet.........more reason for yippy.......
Dawn, we are supposed to be going to a Super Bowl party at our church tomorrow. If the snow is bad, I'm sure they will cancel it. We have so many folks from way south go to our church. Doubt they will have many if the snow is heavy.
Crystal, I love beans, just not in my chili. I like lots of meat and tomatoes. Oh and its no good unless there are crackers to dunk.Chili takes all day to cook so the crockpot helps with this dish. Fix it and forget it.
I got up late and had my coffee. Been on FB and not much else.We are sticking close to the house due to the weather predictions. I guess i should take something out of the freezer. I'm pretty tired of cooking...more tired of trying to figure out what to cook. I'll be glad for summer and the grill again...easy peasy. Perhaps if the snow stays away, I can talk the Man into going out.
Saw Rosie on the View yesterday talking at length about her WLS. She had the VSG like me. Her surgeon was on answering questions. I am so stuck and cannot lose the last 60 lbs. I keep telling myself I can do it but it's not working like the first 6 months after my WLS. When I originally had the VSG, they told me it probably would be a first step for me and another surgery was probable due to the amount I had to lose. I dont see that for myself. Am I being unrealistic? I need to do a pouch test and deal with my emotional eating. I have the exercise part of things under control but I am not able to get the emotional eating under control. Last year, when I went to the therapist about it, she just basically said, stop eating and exercise. Ok I exercise, but that just keeps me at the same weight, while eating my heart out.
Guess, I need to figure out what avenues to take to finally deal with this. But, I have read so many self help books, seen so many therapists, and still there is the road block. Something is in the way. I feel like its an addiction I cant seem to shake. I also know I am using food instead of God to soothe me. Ok I am done complaining......
Enjoy this day the Lord has made.
Hugs,
Sharon
Good afternoon Lisa and the rest of Illinois!
I am catching up on my computer work, applying for jobs and about to start our taxes. I am also trying to decide if I am going to South Carolina for Liv's Spring Break. My in-laws gave ma a Visa gift card that will cover the cost, I just can't decide it I should go in Early March or save it for later. I will continue to research and think about it.
Not too much else going on in my corner of IL. I had flowers sent to Amber today and they were a "seasonal mix" that included tulips! That tells me that Spring is not too far off. YIPPEE! I am happy that this winter had been relatively mild, but I could do without winter all together.
We will be going to a Super Bowl party funded by Todd's softball team. They do a Fantasy Football thing that funds the Super Bowl party. I will go, but if I am uncomfortable at all, I will leave for a bit and go to my club for some sober fun also. Tomorrow, I am not sure what is happening.
Everyone have a fantastic weekend!
Hi Sharon,
Indeed it's cold out there, the over nights in Arizona is cold just like Chicago's day time temps., no biggie. Thanks for the weather update for me today.
I wish I can go out right now, but I can't because I'm waiting for FedEx to come to pick up a package, yesterday I was told that FedEx would come between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.. So, I put good use of my time to do some things/stuff around the house in the mean time so the time can go by faster.

Hello everyone
I am so glad it's Friday. No big plans today. Tomorrow we have a chili cook off to go to. Greg is a chili chef...LOL. But his is extra hot!!! He is really into the "heat"!!! I am not big into chili. Mainly because I hate beans and most chili has beans or at least everyone seems to make it with beans. So I said we do the chili cook off tomorrow but we have to go where I want to go for dinner!!! Because I won't be eating anything there.
Today one of the girls here at work is leaving...it's her last day. So we bought her flowers and got cupcakes and a card. She was surprised. And I had a cupcake...it was yummy!!!
Besides that I have an audit to work on...blah!!! And today is Chipotle day!!!!
Lisa- I haven't wore a watch for years. I use my phone for that now. In fact I use my phone for an alarm too. I don't have an alarm anymore either. I use my phone for everything. I am one of those people that would die without their phone!!!
Well back to work...have a great Friday
Hi Lisa and IL Peeps,
What a beautiful sun today. I was out very early to clean the church and then ran to Walmart as well, Lisa, to get a few things. I have had a hankering for sauerkraut so I went and got some rib tips and away I went. I have tried to be more aware of food prices and am surprised at how much higher the organic produce is at Walmart compared to Jewel. I like to get my produce at Trader Joes, but I spend way too much when I go there, so I try to hit them only once a month.
Carla, I am so sorry for the loss you have had with family. Also so happy for your son in law. We still worry about our babies even when they grow up.
Jason, it is very cold today. I know it must feel even colder to you since just leaving AZ.
Crystal, love your idea of a left over day on the same day of the week. Will give that a try.
I am off to make a cup of tea and deliberate whether to brave the cold again for more errands.
Hugs,
Sharon
