Hello everyone

Other than work I have no plans.  But Greg gets the day off.  His office gets all these weird holidays off...that no one but bankers and teachers get off.  I'm jealous!!!  I am making salad today for dinner.

I had a busy day yesterday.  Half the day in church.  We help out with audio/visual and there is an occasion when they ask us to do both services, so we are there from set up till tear down.  But the hardest part is always getting up because once I'm there I enjoy myself.  Then we went out for pizza.  Then we met his sister and other family to see her new house in Naperville.  It's a very BIG house.  But she's a doctor so she worked hard she deserves it.

I am very excited about our wedding plans.  And it turns out that quite a few family will end up being there.  We thought it would be just us...well because it's in California and we can't afford to fly people in.  Well his family are flying themselves in to be there.  How great is that.  And Amanda and Charles will be there too!!!  Yeah!!!

Dawn-  I just want to say...CONGRATS!!!!  ONE YEAR...WOOHOO!!!

Well I better get back to work....stay warm.

Good Morning,

I just spent the last hour and a half cleaning out my jewelry chest. I bet I boxed up 1/2 of what was in there, since I don't wear it, and there is still to much in it. But, I did find a couple of pieces that I lost, so it was time well spent.

Otherwise, no plans for today except to stay warm and bake a chicken for supper tonight.

Other then Christine, who has plans for today?

Huggers,

Lisa

Chicken soup from scratch on the stove as I type. Been to Best Buy and Staples. Needed a cable to hook up a PC to our flat screen TV that is over the fireplace. Ended up getting the wrong one but found out it can be used with my new laptop and monitor at my desk. That works.

I have off tomorrow and we are going to the Chicago History Museum, RJ Grunts and then possibly over to Lincoln Park Zoo and Conservatory.

Good Morning,

I agree Sharon, the main plan for today is to stay warm. A lot of hot chocolate and herbal tea will be drank today. My preferred clothing will be a sweatshirt and jeans, with nice warm socks and a blanket.

We went out last night, and I had a rack of ribs. Ok, I ate 4. They were fab. So, today, we will finish the ribs, baked potatoes, a salad, and another side. Apple pie for dessert. I may put on a pot of soup, just because.

Crystal's wedding will be a dream. I am so happy for her.

Sharon, I like your idea of cooking and prepaing for the week. I will have to try that.

Please stay warm and stay safe today.

Hugs,

Lisa

Hi Peeps,

Lisa, G and i are like Hubert, Valentine's Dayis just another day. I recall being younger and wanting to have a Valentine, tho.

Dawn, A year! I am so proud of you. Girl, you are one of the strongest women I have ever known. Congrats.

Crystal, congrats on setting your date. Destination weddings are so much fun.

Yesterday we went out to Elmhurst Hospital because G is on call and I just wanted to hang out so I went along for the ride because it was a quickie call in the lab. We then went to a cute 12 table breakfast place called the Omelet House and since the only thing on the menu that I could eat was plain oatmeal, I made the most of it and ate my mush slowly. We then went home and G snoozed all day since he was out all the previous night on call. Call is only once every 6 weeks so it is doable. I made the best chicken wings I have ever eaten for dinner last night. The longer I go on this food change the easier it is becoming. Today will be a challenge. We are celebrating G's birthday at an Italian Restaurant today and I doubt I will be able to find anything......maybe fish.......

Yesterday I prepared my meals and snacks for the week. I made hummus, baked sweet potatoes, cooked lentels &made sure I had all my protein shake ingredients measured out and in individual bags etc. Planning keeps me on track. But I am having trouble drinking the water. Man, it's hard to drink for some reason. Maybe scheduling that like my food will make it happen better.

Today is church, then G's lunch celebration. I cant wait to see those babies!

It is sooooo cold, please be safe and warm Dear Ones!

Hugs to everyone

Sharon

Good evening everyone and Happy Valentines Day,

Not much for me on this day. I went to the Library and the bank today. I borrowed a few books and a movie, the movie I borrowed is called: The Artist. Tomorrow I'll be over at my aunt's house for dinner. I did a load of laundry that I needed to do.

Now I'm just bumming around my apartment.

Have a great evening everyone.

Good Morning,

Congrats to you, Dawn. I knew you could do this, you are a super strong woman. Hubert isn't big on Valentines Day either. He saids it is a Hallmark made day. I know a lot of the schools no longer have the Valentines Day parties, except for the very young kids.

We are going to dinner tonight, just because,

Crystal, have a great day with your love.

Sharon, what is on your agenda for this weekend.

Chris, with your jaunt to the loop, stay warm.

Jason, any plans?

I am going to finish some stuff today, nothing really on the agenda.

Hugs,

Lisa

Good evening Sharon and the rest of Illinois!

One more hour and I could start Friday's Roll Call!

I slept in this morning (I must have needed it) then woke to a phone that seemed to be blowing up with messages.  Long story short, I got to take a friend to see a baby that was born yesterday.  This baby was 5 weeks early and 4 lbs. 12 oz.  The fantastic, miraculous news is that this baby is doing very well!  She does not "look" like a preemie and she is learning to suck and eat very well.  Hopefully, she will be able to come home with her mom in a day or two.  Her parents are two of my, "kids" and I am so very proud of this little family.  I am the closest of all the relatives, so I will be first in line to help out when they get home.  YIPPEE!  Holding that little bundle recharged my batteries!

I have been going through a lot of, "this time last year......." as I entered rehab on Valentine's Day last year.  I went to a speaker meeting tonight to listen to one of my friends' story.  Very inspiring!  Sunday, my sponsor will present me a coin to celebrate my first year of recovery.  Valentine's Day has never been a huge deal with Todd, so I don't really "celebrate".  Now, I have something to celebrate the next day.  I am blessed.

I continue to get on the bike each day and am trying to clean up my eating.  I have lost about 5 lbs, but I'm not really going to count it until it is at least 10 and it stays off.  I know I can do this.

I hope you are all doing well, and yes, Crystal.......I am so happy for you!

Have a great day!

Hello everyone

I am happy and for once I am looking forward to Valentines Day because I have someone that is actually doing something for me.  We going somewhere to do something I wanted to do (he won't tell me what).  And he has a surprise for me...I wonder what it could be!!!  I know it can't be anything to big because we are saving for a multitude of things but it it's still exciting.  Also, he said we have to nail down a day for the wedding this weekend...so I may have that figured out by the time I talk to you guys again.

Today at work they did this thing where we voted on things like who is more caring, who has the bubbliest personality, the best laugh....the point being that there are things more important than work...work...work.  I got :I have the warmest smile.  We had a huge potluck...I made oreo balls with strawberry in the middle.  They were super yummy.

Tonight for Friday the 13th....I am watching a scary movie...Booooo!!!!

Well back to work my peeps.  Have a good day.

Hi Lisa,

Yup it's been that long already. Where did the time go?, right? I'm am, but I think I can do a little better. Looks like I might be in another wild ride for this year like last year, only time can tell.

I hope you have a good time at lunch with your friends.

Right now I'm listing to my very first audiobook that I borrowed from the library called "The Gingerbread Girl" by Stephen King. So far it's okay, not use to it. I'm use to reading out of a book.

Have a great day.
