PLEASE HELP ME
Joannie...have you tried multiple brands?? There's a wide difference in the "flavor" and textures of the different brands, what might be good for you is still out there somewhere? Pre-op I mixed Unjury unflavored into soups, red beans & rice, smoothies...broth...literally anything without trouble. With the soups you have to add it under 130 degrees and slowly (like corn starch to gravy) or it clumps up terrible.
Post op the only way I've found I can handle it is mixed in one scoop to a box of Jello sugar free insant pudding. I can get almost 10 grams extra protein per 1/4 box serving.
Hey Joannie ... your best best is try to get samples from different proteins ... try http://www.vitalady.com ... she sells some samples ... a good way to find out if you may like it ... BUT remember, after surgery, your tastes may drastically change, so, something that doesn't work for you initially, may again down the road.
For the first three months after surgery, I couldn't do chocolate ... the thought of chocolate (as in shakes) made my stomach churn. But now, I have no probs with chocolate shakes, chocolate carb countdown milk ... so just keep trying. Different recipes with protein may also help.
My favorite protein drinks are Worldwide Ultra Pure Protein (banana flavor is my fave) ... these are ready-to-drink protein shakes in a can, and I like to mix the banana with chocolate carb countdown milk and put in a few squirts of chocolate or banana Sugar Free syrup.
You'll just have to find what works for you though!! Good luck ... and don't give up!!

I really like isopure protien drink from gnc they are in bottles and you can get flavors like melon(not my favorite) I really liked the punch type my brain is freezing right now on the flavor names, but they are not thick it is like a flavored water. they do have flavored water now also. I really like them over ice. This just might be your best bet because you don't have to mix it. Good luck hope this help???
BTW...Mickie said I will be seeing Dr. Irgau instead because Dr. Wynn is booked right into July for consults...she only does them 3 Friday's a month....Irgau is there I think every Thursday, plus one Friday. So it looks good for me so far...I guess I will be making a carrot cake for my last "fat birthday" next month. (called Mom today and got the recipe!)
God Bless.

I'm also a fan of the Zero Carb Isopure in the glass bottles. I like Alpine Punch the best and I mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Crystal Lite lemonade. I don't taste any of the proteiny stuff and still get in my protein. It's a bit pricey but worth it.
I also like the Any Whey which is almost tasteless and miss it into my Carnation Instant Breakfast.
Good luck on your upcomong surgery!
Regards and hugs,
Ronna
