Wondering about lapband being done on heart patients....

I have an artificial heart valve, and was wondering if anyone else has sucessfully been able to get a surgeon to do this procedure, or if this would limit me. I have to do something, as I have severe shortness of breath and find it more and more difficult to do normal things for my age. The other question that I have is my age, previously, I have heard that no one would do this procedure on anyone over 55, I am currently 62 and praying that I can get this done. Thanks, Pat F.

Hi...I'd like to suggest you post also to the Over 50 forum here at obesityhelp - it's a fairly active and friendly board and I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses to your questions. You can find it by clicking forums up top in the yellow bar and then choose "Over 50" from the Other Forums drop down menu.
