Help please
Brooke,
I can completely understand what you mean about still feeling fat. It takes time. I am 3 1/2 years out and have had plastics and still feel the same way. It is slowly starting to get better. After years of being overweight it is hard to get out of that mindset.
I was talking about this the the PS who did my surgeries, and he says it is not just me ( or you either) but the society we live in. He says he has models, actresses, people we may have seen in movies who come into his office, and they are just as insecure. Lots of pressures put on women these days. Look at the TV shows, makeover shows etc. ( I have to wonder how a PS REALLY feels about all this - good for business, but at what cost to the women out here who are average and normal and made to feel inferior because they are not perfect.)
You have accomplished so very much, I am in awe of how well you have done and continue to do. You are an awesome young woman.
As far as snacks - I tend to live on the same foods over and over as well.
I have a few recipes on my profile.
tuna salad w/ low fat mayo, deviled eggs, slices of deli ham rolled up w/ a little low fat cream chees ( never could stand the fat free stuff tho)
I make quesadillas with refried beans and cheese and sometimes add a little cooked chicken breast if I have it. I eat lot of sugar free jello and pudding when I want something "bad" I am also addicted to cucumbers. they are great dipped in guacamole. I also make a cucmber salad w/ tomatoes and mozzarella or feta cheese and greek dressing. Kashi hot cereals. Lite & fit yogurt w/ a little Kashi crunch cereal on top. I make several chicken breasts, slice them and keep in the fridge to add to salads, quesadilla, in a pita for a sandwich etc. celery w/ peanut butter and a few raisins on top. Apple slices w/ peanut butter. I keep cut up veggies, green & red peppers, cucumbers, carrots, celery in a tupperware container in the fridge to snack on w/ ranch dressing. I buy big bags of sugar snap peas at Costco to have for snacks too. I love them. dill pickles, A lot of salt, but no sugar and almost no calories.
I keep frozen fruit, strawberries, mixed berries, mango etc in the freezer and thaw a few at a time add splenda if needed, and top / a dab of cool whip for a dessert that actually has nutrients.
also they are good as a topping for cottage cheese.
I also take about a half cup of ricotta , add 1 packet of splenda and a few drops of vanilla and stir well and top w/ a little fruit.
hope this helps!
