Help please

Guys... I need some meal or snack ideas. I find myself eating the same things every day... it's getting really boring! The sad thing is that I work in a restaurant (Mexican but with American food as well) and I have the entire menu to choose from. I eat a lot of shrimp.. I love it. There are also many chicken alternatives and steak. I love tacos... but they are very ... fried. I realized something.... I'm still fat... on the inside. I've been kind of depressed the past couple of days (maybe it's just pms). I've been starving, but not real hunger... just the kind of days where you want to shove every piece of food you see in your mouth. Maybe one led to the other. I'm just really tired of after all this success.... all the distance I've come... I still feel fat... I still look fat... and I have enough skin for 3 people. Maybe I should stop complaining... and just be happy with what I've accomplished so far... sigh.... thanks for listening guys.

Well Brooke first of all what you are feeling as far as still being fat is "normal" so they say. I also feel that way alot, and I am only 7 months out. As far as wanting to eat everything that isnt nailed down, do you have a "before" picture hanging on the fridge? do u have one in your purse? These are good places to have those to remind you of where you once were. and to help you understand what kind of hunger your having. I even have one near the mirror in the bathroom so that when im looking into it and think wow im still real heavy i can see that im not as fat as i used to be. hope this helps some. hang in there, you look fantabulous!!! I know that I'm not as fat as I used to be... but it is really hard to not see yourself as fat.... period. I do have to see myself naked hehehe... I do though when I get really down I just pull up the old pictures and that usually helps. thanks for your encouragement!

I still feel fat too. I guess it is hard to change that image of ourselves. What restaurant do you work for? Cinnamon bagel chips are my favorite. Also Kozy Shack sugar free pudding. I call it my ice cream. But then I have strange tastes and you may not like them. I also like apple chips. Hopefully I will be approved for plastics. I talked to the insurance company today and it went to a committee. So I am praying but I am also scared. I am sending good thoughts your way.

HI Brooke- You are doing great. For snacks I usually eat Jerky, peanuts, or the mint chocolate pria bars. I also occasionally eat popcorn. I chew a lot of gum, that helps curbs the need to chew. Also, I do have tic tacs or a sugar free mint with me. Keep up the good work! I do have days like that also and they sre usually assocoated with the time of the month-KWIM?

Brooke, give me a couple of days and I can come up with some ideas for you. I just have some work and things to do at home and do not have time to sit at the 'puter to even read, let alone think and type.

Hi Brooke: I know what you mean about still feeling fat. In my head I am still a fat person. I go thru times of wanting to eat all that is not nailed down as well. PMS is a factor for me. Not to mention, that I am a food addict. I am waiting for a couple of books I ordered about food addiction. I look forward to reading them. I have a great fear of putting myself right back where I started. Now is the time to get a handle on changing my brain. I have a couple of food ideas. Jerky is great. Gives me something to chew on. Fake cheesecake is another. 4oz of fat free cream cheese, 5 packets (1TBS) of Splenda and a couple TBS of fat free or lite cool whip mixed together. I can't take credit for this recipe. MyLadyHeidi on the main board has posted this many times. Cheese, cheese and more cheese. Power Crunch bars. I use those as a treat and not more than 1 every week or two. There is a great website called allrecipes.com that has a huge variety of low carb recipe ideas. I believe another site is lowcarbfriends.com. If you do protein shakes, I recomed Matrix 5.0 chocolate mixed with the fat free carb countdown and warmed. For one serving there is 167 calories and 30g of protein. Hang in there, you have done great so far! Hope this gives you and idea or two. Chris

Sometimes I'm not even hungry... I'm just like.. hmm maybe I should eat..... I have the Matrix 5.0 ... it's one of the first proteins I actually can stand! A lot of people have suggested the power crunch bars... I think I'm going to pick up a couple to try! Thanks for your advice!
