Prayers Please!!

Hi there OH family! I just got off of the phone with my surgeon's office and she is submitting my request to BCBS of IL today. This will be the first submission to my new insurance that CLAIMS to pay for WLS when medically necessary. I spent all of last year fighting my former insurance company to no avail. My co-morbid conditions are much worse this year than last, and I am not sure that I have the time to wait much longer. PLEASE say a prayer for an approval so that I can get on with my life...for me and my family. Thank you for the support! Dawn

Good luck! Don't mean to scare you - but I have been fighting with BCBS for quite awhile now as well. Hope you approval goes much smoother!! Patty

Hey Dawn ... good luck ... I too had BCBS of IL ... they said THEY would cover surgery, but my company had the exclusion. Turns out, however, upon appeal of medical necessity from my surgeon, I was approved. I don't know what transpired between my surgeon/insurance/company, but very glad it did. Take care! Karyn

Hi Dawn ... well, I have some issues I'm trying to deal with (most likely not related to WLS), but if I was to do surgery all over again, it would be a definite yes. I've always been one who thought (all my life), that Little Miss Independent can do EVERYTHING on her own ... and I'm finding that doesn't always work. I've come back to these boards for support ... to give and to receive ... and I'm grateful we have this forum. Good luck, please keep us posted ... Karyn

I will keep you in my prayers, I too have bcbs hmo and I had no problems at all getting approved, in fact I just have my 1year post op anv. and doing great...keep us posted.. p.s. great name Dawn 314/198/healthy
