I spent $15+ on a sample pack of protein bars from bariatriceating.com. I received the package yesterday. There were only about 5 or 6 samples in it. (I knew what I was getting when I ordered it. That isn't the problem.) I can't find anything in the stores that taste good to me so I decided to try ordering them. This morning I was peeling eggs over the trash can and found one of the wrappers. My husband had ate at least one of them. He does need to lose weight, but he is always doing this! He sees something he thinks he should eat and away he goes! He knows that I can't eat just anything. I spent a lot of money to try to find a protein bar that I like. We don't have the money for me to do the supplemental stuff anyway. I maxed out my credit card again so that I could try these. (and some protein drinks) I just don't understand why he can't just leave my stuff alone. He does that when I have regular food just for me. When I got out of the hospital he ate all of my sugar free pudding and jello. Everything that I get for myself he eats! I am furious!!!!!!!!!! Why is he such a jerk!?

LOL ... I know how you feel ... my husband now thinks HE can't eat sugar either ... so he has to eat the expensive sugar free petit fors and candy (which I normally just keep in the house for a special occasion) ... he also feels the need to devour the protein bars ... so you're not alone ... you might have to find a way to hide some of it (I always keep a "stash" in the trunk of my car). Oh yeah, he's addicted to the sugar free pudding and other SF stuff too ... I think he thinks its funny when he consumes a little more sugar free stuff than he should and gets gas. I dunno ... men .... SHEESH!! Good luck ... BTW, my favorite protein bar is the Detour bar ... I find them on sale sometimes at Jewel (grocery store) for $1/each (so I try to stock up ... otherwise I see them about $1.60 - $1.99 ... these are the smaller ones, not the big ones at GNC) ... I can probably send you a couple if you don't have them near you ... just email me. Karyn

I am preop but have been buying protein bars and protein drink samples and I keep mine in my bedroom drawer as my boyfriends son who is 25 and has no responsibility thinks he can eat just anything. And since my surgery was approved my boyfriend decided that he needs to lose also which he does so I just buy healthy foods, no sugar, no pops, nothing but fruit, juices, and meats and vegetables, I figure that is healthy for all and if they eat it before I can buy more then they go hungry so far I dont think anyone is starving. I may have to change my approach after surgery. but for know that works. bye love marie

I hear ya, my son thinks that he needs to try all the items I have, "Like I'm hoarding the good stuff for myself"!!!! I made him pay me for the protein bars he ate. I don't know what it is that makes others feel the need to go after these items, but you have every right to aggravated. Take Care, glad to hear that not just my family does this stupid stuff! Dan

I am very picky about my protien bars. Have you tried "Pure Protien" bars? I get them at Walmart for $1.17 each. I only like the chocolate, strawberry and blueberry ones. I know not everyone likes the same things, but these are the best tasting ones I have found yet.

Hi Dawn ... I haven't tried those yet, but I'll have to. There sure are some "icky" (for lack of a better word) ones out there. I do like the Detour ones the best of all I've tried though ... not the big ones they have at GNC, the smaller ones are best. And yes, I do agree ... taste is completely subjective! Karyn
