I cancled my wls with Cori Center today........

Hi everyone, I just wanted to update you all about my wls.I have decided to cancle my wls with Cori Center today. I feel sad but I think this is best. I have nothing bad to say against my DR. it is the office staff that has caused me to be concerned.They don't have their act together and I have gotten the runaround way too much from them to feel confident with them any more.If you want to know more e-mail me and I will let you know. I feel this surgery is a wonderful tool.I don't know if I will go threw all this again to try to have it ,it has beed very stressful. Right now I will just cry and think about what I may I been if I had wls. Then I will get back in the game of living my real life and taking care of my family and being all I can be. Hi Tonia ... I'm so sorry that you've decided to end your quest for WLS, but you, and only you, know what's best for you. Unfortunately, a lot of people have had to jump through hoops to get to the end result (surgery itself), but it can indeed be draining. Please know that there are MANY great surgeons in this area, so maybe when you're ready, you will find what you're looking for. Thank you Karyn, I understand some have been through so much more than me and I feel for them too. I went into this asking for God to lead me in the right path and when all this started happening I really strated worring abouth this company and didn't want to leave my life in their hands(if you know what I mean). Right now I just want to recope from all the stress and move on to a way of eating and living that will help me get more healthier. I have lost some weight in the past so I know I can. I already talked to my friend who helped me in the past and I will be keep a food journal and weighing in to her 2 times per month.(This helped me lose 51 pounds in 6 months before.) Well , I do thank you for your kind words. I have to say this web site is just wonderful!!I am so glad that this is here ,it really gives people hope and everyone seems so friendly ! Thank you. Hang in there TOnia ... there's nothing wrong with you getting yourself back in order ... it is a huge ordeal to have your mind set on something (a rather large decision), be approved, and then just not have the "right" feeling about it. If and when you are electing to look into surgery again, there are a lot of people who can recommend fabulous doctors/programs, but in the meantime, if you're thinking of trying again on your own, I don't know if you've noticed, but there are a lot of VERY successful and inspirational people who are non-ops ... you might actually want to check out those boards as well. I can't imagine how frustrated you must feel. I wanted to let you know that I have a wonderful Dr. in Chicago. I know it would be a little drive for you, but it's worth the hour or so I go to see him. I think he and most doctors would try and work with you. If you've done tests and things like that it would probably make the process that much faster. His name is Dr. Madura, and he is at Rush in Chicago. He and his staff are very well organized. I just went Monday for my final pre-op. After you meet the dr. you meet Samantha, who is your contact person when you need something. She is very busy, but is good at getting back to you. I want to thank all who have replied to me you are very nice. I am still wanting wls but needed to take a step back and look at things again. I have had a very bad experience so far so I am a little nervous about going through all of this again. If you could e-mail me about what you think it would take this time around for me to get wls(I am approved and have my letter too),I would be greatful. I also have idpa. Thank you all so much. Tonia

JUST WANTED TO PUT MY 2 CENTS IN I HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THEM ALSO I JUMPED THROUG ALL THE HOOPS AND THEN WAS TOLD THEY DON'T ACCEPT MEDICAID ANYMORE...I ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE OFFICE STAFF. SO I SAID FORGET IT I AM WORKING OUT AT THE YMCA AND I JOINED WEIGH****CHERS. I HAVE COMMITTED MYSELF TO THIS FOR A YEAR AND IF THIS DOSEN'T WORK I WILL TRY FOR SURGERY AGAIN. I THINK OF THESE PROMBLEMS AS SIGNS SO I WILL TRY AND SEE. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. I WILL BE KEEPING A JOURNAL ON MY PROFILE TOO. I ERASED THE OLD AND GETTING READY FOR THE FUTURE.

If you read my profile you will see you are not alone with the cori center decision. It was the best decision i ever made! THey really need to get their act together....Dont give up. THere are places that do have their act together....

LisaMarie, Hi,I did read your profile.You had alot of the same problems I did.Not knowing what was going to happen the week of my wls!!! Alot of other things too:no call backs,not knowing what is going on ,no real answers alot of I am not sure about that answers...a bunch of junk! Anyway, you are doing wonderful!!!I am so happy for you! I am going to look into another place.I am trying to get Cori Center to give me my medical records but as of yet they haven't! I hope I don't have to wait until I find another place and have them try to get them.I know they can but I really wanted them before so I would have them in hand.
