Hey everyone. It`s been a lil while since I`ve posted. The last time I posted,I had just quit smoking under the orders of my pcp before he would do anything to help me with WLS.Well,I`m a 4 week non smoker :clap as of today.I just had a historectomy on Wed.Came home yesterday. It was a (have to) historectomy. All my DRS.kept advizing me not to have any mor kids for the last year because of a combination of my age and medical problems.if it were just my age it wouldn`t have been such a big deal to me,and I would have gotten pregnant any way.But I have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hiatel hernia with acid refluxe,I have back problems from a back injury back in 1991 plus I`m morbidly obese. My DRS.said I was nuts for wanting to try to carry a baby in my condition. And it would be too dangerous for me and the baby. All kinds of things could and probably would go wrong even if I could carry it to term.So after long thought I decided the risks outway the possibilities. So here I set,on a pillow in a chair.I have a pillow on my lap to hold the keyboard and mouse.I am so sore.I have one 12 yr.old son which he was a miracle in it`self for me to have .I had endometriosis when I miraceuluosly got pregnant with him.I wanted to have 2 kids.A boy & a girl.I had a misscarrage at 16 so I guess that was my 1st and my son was my 2nd.Any way,My pcp said yesterday when he came to see me in the hospital that we can now begin the process/steps it takes for WLS.The 1st step is to locate facilities/Surgeons in Illinois that take both medicaid(me) & aetna because my mom wants us to do this together. So I guess I got a head start to my new years resolution.Which was to take the whole yr.of 2006 for self improvement.Wish me luck.KimberlyB

Sounds like you have had a really hard time, just hold on to your son and feel blessed that you have him..I had my surgery on July 25th Im on medicaid and I went to CoriCare in Harvey Il and my surgeon was Dr. Michael Wood he was great and it went sooooo fast, if you havent found a Dr. yet you might want to try them, you would talk to Anita and she is super nice..good luck Lisa Michelle
