Illinois LapBanders out there?

Hi I am looking into lapband surgery. I am meeting with my primary dr on Monday 19th of Dec. I have heard that Dr Rossi in the best in the Peoria area. My friend had the gps and she said the the lapband is the way to go. I called about support classes and am waiting to hear from the lady to see when they are. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thank You.

I hope you take the time to research all types of WLS so you can best judge which prodedure is right for you. You are on the right site to do it. Sorry I can't help you with Doctors. There are so many that are good. The best of luck to you.

Thanks for the reply. I have talked to my friend who had bypass and it freaks the **** out of me. I can't help it, but I am a single mom and the girls dad doesn't have much to do with them. I am toooooo scared to try the bypass. God Bless all of you who have. If I wasn't so scared about it I would be doing it. We will see what happens after I talk to the dr though.

I am going to have the lap-band done too in clinton Il because of my insurance. but maybe we can support each other i live in peoria too

hey, i live in Peoria also. i am trying to figure out why peoria surgical group keeps telling me that medicaid will only pay $1000 when others on here are telling me they pay for all of the lap band surgery. Maybe after it is all said and done, we can get together for support.
