Cori Center medicade Urgent!!!

Hi everyone. I have a urgent question.... I have a surgery date for Jan.9,2005 I called todat just to get some info about the preop testing I have to do 2 weeks before surgery. I was told that they are no longer taking new medicade pateints and have dropped all the ones they have!!!!!!!!! Then I was told someone would call me friday to let me know for sure. I am so shocked and pretty emotional right now! THey said I was supposed to get a letter -I didn't! I hope this is not true!! For me and for anyone else that is using this insur. Please reply if you know anything at all thanks! Tonia

Hi Tonia I am so sorry to hear this. I can't believe they are dropping the medicaid patients that they have scheduled. I know they aren't taking any new medicaid patients at this time since they have so many, but to drop the ones they do have??? I wonder what that may mean for those of us who are fortuante enough to be post op, but still have medicaid?? Did Nadine tell you this or did you actually speak to someone like Cindy in the office at Harvey? Sorry for all of these questions but I'm 1 month post op from CORI and this is all kinda crazy, I'm gonna call them ASAP and get to the bottom of this mess. I do however know that Nadine in my opinion has never had her facts straight from day 1 and isn't competent enough to do her job, there for I would not believe a word from her mouth. If I find out anything I'll let you know. Hopefully it's just that they aren't taking any new patients at this time. Take care, Anita

HI Anita, I talked to Amanda the nurse. First she said,there is a Tonia on the list but then she told me the other thing about dropping all medicade pateints(sp) I was told they would call friday to tell me for sure .Tina is in charge this Amanda says.So, I have to wait until tommorow to find out anything else. I hope all goes well for you. I e-mail a real nice lady I met at Cori and she talks of a friend of hers named Anita that just had wls her name is Barbra do you two know each other? Just wondering. not only after getting everything done did they cancel me but when I asked for my records to be sent to me they sent someone elses instead.. I really don't think they have their act together and i do belive this was for a reason. oh yea i think nadine is a b**ch everytime i talked to her.. Oh well I get new insurance in feb so we will have to wait aqnd see.

I'm calling this AM to see what the heck is going on. This is a crazy mess. Since Nadine has been there CORI has gone way down hill. The lady before Nadine was so nice and polite and always on top of the game. Nadine is just a lazy person who doesn't want to do her job in my opinion. I'll let you know what I find out. What I have heard is there are a lot of changes taking place within the Illinois medicaid dept. I have already had surgery with a different surgeon but I believe he will not be able to follow me as well. Sorry for all those who are having a hard time with this now. Hopefully you all will still be able to have your surgery. It was the best thing that has happened to me! Good Luck All! Shelley

Hi everyone, I called Cori this am and was told Tina the lady that was supposed to call me was not in today!!!What is up with all this mess?! I talked to Amanda again and she said she sent Tina 2 messages to call me already.She is at her other office I was told. I called the only Tina I know at Cri and left a voice mail with her asking to please let me know if she knows I am having wls or not. I am pretty upset about the non profesional attitude that I am getting from Cori Center. I had nothing but good things to say before but they have not kept me informed and are not very good at knowing what is going on or maybe they just don't want to tell me?! I have a question though who is Nadine?I haven't heard of her.I used to have a pcc at Cori named Annita but one day I called to talk with her and was told she was no longer with Cori and I would be talking to Amanda from now on. Hello Everyone, I have some great news!!! I am still having wls!!! I talked to Tina and Amanda today and all is still a go! Tina has no idea why I was told waht I was told and she was realy sorry that I was upset. Also she told me they had to drop about 80 medicade patientsand kept 10 and I am one of the ten. Well,so much for scareing the life out of me and all. I hope anyone else that is going through the Cori Center has a smooth go of it all the way to thin world I hope all of you have a wonderful ,warm and stress free day!!!! Tonia
