I know the judge

Well I went and filed an emergency eviction today on these squatters who are in my other house which is for sale! These ex friends were only suppose to stay for a few weeks and it has been 6 mths now! Not paid 1 dime for rent! Now they refuss to move! They even now are refussing to let realestate people show the house to maybe buyers! I really don't want back rent! I just want them OUT! Ok I do know the judge who is handling the case, our court date is Dec 8. Can I call the judge or write him a letter before hand explaining the situation? Maybe take him to lunch? I do not want him to be unfair because he knows me! I want him to be fair! I think allowing someone to get away with no rent for 6 mths is being fair! This is a nice home not some dump. They think they have 90 days after we go to court to move! WRONG! I am asking for a 5 day eviction! Hay I already gave them a 30 day registered letter. There 30 days is up! They are acting like O well who cares if she wants her house, she is being unfair! Yes they are nuts! They are white trash who think they can get by living for nothing! Yes they both work! Wow I lived there 15 yrs no one let me live 6 mths without a morgage payment! Yes I am still payin it! I need to sell it! But first these nuts have to be out!! The lady across the street called me, the squatter backed into there car causeing 1000.00 in damage! They have no insurance! Yes they will go to court over this too! Some people just never grow up! They have cursed me out so many times! Last night it was cause I left a BUNCH OF empty boxes on there front step! They think thats harrasment. Well they are suppose to be out this wk end and they don't have 1 thing packed! Looked to me like they needed boxes! ha ha In the nasty message they said they were gonna call the cops on me and get a restraining order! If they called the cops I know they laughed and said well get to packing before the sheriff comes and sits your things on the street! Why did I ever have a heart and let them move in? Even for a few days was a mistake! Please pray that they come to there sences and move! They both work! I was a single mom, no child support and I made that payment all those years! Someday when it sells it will pay off! In the mean time my boyfriend and I bought our dream home! We have just today finished ordering our last remodel job! New front doors! Wood! Very nice ones! Everyone who drives by will say "Look at those doors" ha ha I know I am lucky to have found such a great guy! Hay he splits the bills! Gets me roses! Illinois needs to change the eviction laws. Their are too many people who know they can get by without paying rent.

I agree, Miss K J,.... and Cyndi g'luck hun....I would ask the judge to order them to all get jobs and reinburst all who has suffered .....If this was my house and they did this to me...You can make sure I would do anything to make them reimburst me for all the torment & grief,they put me through and make them learn a valuable lesson that they cant keep doing this to ppl.....Maybe if ppl would take an extra step to stop ppl like this...then maybe they wouldnt get a chance to do it to someone else....

Cyndi, Sorry to hear about your situation. My advice is do NOT contact the judge. You don't want them to have anything to say against you, they could say you were trying to bribe the judge by buying him lunch. Instead I think you need to talk to a lawyer. Let him/her advise you the quickest way to get rid of them. Also you maybe able to recoup some of your lost rent with the help of a lawyer. But I think your main concern is getting the house sold. I'd be worried they'd be stripping the house of any valuable fixtures. You have a right to inspect your home. I'd do it - with witnesses. You should document the condition of your house before you get them out. Bring a polaroid or video camera and take lots of pictures. best of luck to you, Cat

Thanks for all the advice! I did take a police officer over there and I took pictures of the house everyroom! The squatters wife was so mad! But she kept her mouth shut! Then the next day I was next door talking to the police officer and his wife that I had lived next door to for 15 yrs, the squatter came outside when she saw my car. I had the police, he was off duty, well he came and walked me to my car! I know she had to be really bad cause she couldnt say anyhing in front of him! I am going to write them a letter letting them know I am still moving back in Dec 5, if there there or not and if they are moved out I will not file for back rent or utlities, but the house must be in good shape as I left it, really I do not want 1 cent if they just get out by our court date of Dec 8! How can people do this! I was a single mom for 15 yrs there, I made my payments! I feel like someone has kidnapp a kid of mine! I never in my wildest dreams thought the house would not sell!
