metallic taste

I have the absolute worst metallic taste in my mouth. Does this have anything to do with WLS? I am about 5 months out. I am doing well. I feel wierd calling my doc and saying it tastes like I am chewing on tinfoil...Ughhh! Anyone?

Metallic taste in mouth can be caused by many different things. ... When blood breaks down, iron is released and causes a metallic taste in mouth... Many things can cause it.... I would call your doctor and let him decide....and what if any ..why this is happening...

I get that taste if I eat tums, or some kinds of anti acid meds.. So it could be some of your meds your taking. Connie
