Ingalls Hospitals???
Has anyone had bariatric surgery at this hospital? If so are there any outside of Chicago? I just don't want to drive the traffic~~ya know what I mean? I would like to have the sapala-wood micro pouch, but no one in Indiana does this. I will have to go to Chicago or Michigan.. Also who are some of the best doctors in the Ingalls hospitals, that do the micro pouch? I know Dr. Wood in Michigan is my first choice, but I would have to drive Detroit!! ugh!!!
TXS for any help you might have to offer...
Connie from Indiana

Hi Connie:
I live 8 miles away from Ingall's Hospital which is located in Harvey, IL. I live in South Holland, IL. I'm having my WLS done there on November 30, 2005. The bad news is, that the doctor, (Dr. Wood), who was doing the Sapala Woods Micro-Pouch is no longer there. He was going to be my surgeon, but because he left I had to see the new surgeon that replaced him. He doesn't do the Sapala-Wood Micro-Pouch. Now there is another doctor at the CORO Center, Dr. Romberg, he might perform the Micro-Pouch surgery, but I don't really know for sure.
I'm sorry to have to tell you that information. I hope that everything works out for you. Dr. Wood is a wonderful doctor, I felt very comfortable with him. My new doctor is great also, his name is Dr. Cahill, but he doesn't do the Sapala-Woods. I know because I saw him last evening, and asked him about it. He said that the RNY is basically very similar. Personally, if I had my choice I would get the FOBI, but no one around here does that surgery. Oh well, sa la vie...Anyway, you have a great evening and a blessed life.
Sincerely,
Jacquie W.
Hi Connie I had surgery with the CORI Center 2 weeks ago today. I had Dr. Cahill as my surgeon and he is wonderful. He did not do the micropouch on me but did make my stomach a little smaller than 10cc I've had no problems with the surgery at all. The hospital staff were excellant until I ended up on the 2nd floor with a fast heart beat and they had no clue how to deal with a bariatric patient at all, but my husband helped me with everything I needed. Good luck with your search.
Take care,
Anita
